PLU ELMSN 2017

U.S.A. Washington

Is anyone applying to the Pacific Lutheran University ELMSN program with me this year? There is a post last year about this program, so I figured I should start one for summer 2017!

Would any current ELMSN student be willing to provide their email address for questions? I tried to send a private message, but it won't let me because I haven't made 15 topic posts :( Thank you!

Hello SB2SEA,

PLU does find placements for your clinicals. The sites are generally in the Tacoma area, but some sites are in Olympia and Seattle too. The clinical coordinator will assign you a location, but you're allowed to trade clinical sites with the other people in your cohort. You'll likely receive your clinical assignments for the entire pre-licensure portion sometime in the first summer semester.

Hello Lnelson16,

I sent you a message

Hi seattle3573,

I wouldn't worry too much about not hearing anything back yet! They are currently doing more interviews and working to send out the acceptance emails. You will be fine :D

I just had my interview today and I don't think I did very well. That was my first phone interview EVER so that was something to learn from. I am happy that I made it this far in a grad school admission process, no matter what. They told me that they will send out decisions in the next few weeks for me.

Thank you curiousrei for helping us out and answering questions about the ELMSN program! We really appreciate it!

I got a letter on Saturday saying I am on the waitlist - basically if they can get the budget approval for a bigger class then I will be admitted. Anyways I got accepted at Yale and will be attending so I am turning down my spot regardless. Best of luck everyone and enjoy PLU! :-)

Congratulations to all those admitted and to those on the waitlist. I will be turning down my spot and hope you all have a wonderful time at PLU!

Hey y'all! I'm also a current student in the first year of the ELMSN program. I agree with everything curiousrei has commented on so far, but if you have any other questions, feel free to let me know!

Hello all, just found this post and hope to bask in my nervousness with all those who are on the waitlist. I was wondering if anybody has heard anything else about what being on the waitlist means and how likely a chance to be admitted. considering several people on this forum have already chosen to decline admission, i imagine that if the expansion funding is approved that now leaves room for 29 people.?

I too just received a waitlist letter. When I interviewed, Teri said to not be discouraged if you received a waitlist letter because they were possibly extending the class from 26 to 32 students (upon approval)....I hope this is correct and all of us hanging out on the waitlist will get accepted!

That is great news that they are possibly increasing the size of the cohort! I think I might be the last one on this forum to be interviewed. I haven't heard back after my interview so hopefully I will get some type of response, whether is waitlist or rejection. Perhaps I need to work a few years before to gain more experience and support my interests. I am currently applying and interviewing for community health jobs in case I am rejected from the program. It would be more helpful to know my status soon than later. Very proud of everyone who has been accepted or waitlisted! I think it is already an accomplishment that you have been invited to an interview :D Hope everyone has an amazing time at PLU!

Congrats on your interview tho! Definitely awesome ! As for all us waitlisters tho... I imagine we will find out our admission status soon? If they are to get approval,,, and the letter makes me feel optimistic they will... then I don't see why they wouldn't add us! That letter was either a trick to make you feel safe, or they actually will most likely add us. Lnelson16, did your letter say something about being on the select waitlist and as soon as they get approval in march you will be notified of your status?
