There is a large possibility that i may be pregnant with my seceond child. Now i know, i know, "take the test", well i i have to get the nerve up to do it first. This is the worst scenerio now. I enter nursing school in the fall and am SO scared that they will deny my application as they did my friends (i have already been accepted):sniff:. I know i can handle it because i was pregnant with my son at hte same time 2 yrs ago and had a work load from hell. I am scared, nervous, and feeling very down. Has anyone completed or participated in nursing school while expecting? is it possible? Will they allow it!!?? ASre my dreams and all my hard work going to have to be stopped? :banghead: :bluecry1:

my first semester is VERY easy with only 2 classes because i took way to many courses to get ahead last year, so im not worried about it. the second semester is what is going to be trouble and the support of the nursing program and proffesors....

I was pregnant when I started lvn school in the month of august and had her in october. went to school in labor cause we had hospital orientation and couldn't do clinicals without it and ended up leaving and had her that day on a monday. Was back in school on thursday. It can be done

You machine!

I graduated nsg sch w/ a lady who had baby #2 during our 3rd semester....she had the baby, brought her to class, nursed her, and what-have-you. Think she took about a week off or so, but took finals with her backpack on one side of her desk and the baby/corificeat on the other. It can be done. Good luck to you. :)

There were 2 girls in my class who got pregnant and successfully graduated. One had her baby in the MIDDLE of a semester. It doesnt make it any easier for you, but you can do it. And I dont see how they can deny you after already being accepted. Just keep your chin up.

Don't tell them. Keep quiet, don't talk about it at school/clinical, and work your rear end off so that when you are obviously pregnant they have no good reason not to let you continue (at least, not one that wouldn't have the potential to cause a lawsuit). I'd buy your scrub tops extra large to begin with, and go from there.

Good luck! You are by no means the only student who has ever gotten pregnant in nursing school, and you will be just fine.

First take the test so you will know, you may be worrying for nothing and all these posts will be mute points.

If you are pregnant, keep it to yourself, it's no one's business and it's also called discrimination!

Don't worry!! Congrats if you are pregnant! It can be done. I got pregnant junior year of NS and had my baby during the week of midterms!! I had my baby and went back to school that same week! I was also working full time as a student worker and went into labor the last day of work!!! It CAN be done!!! Good luck!!! :) and the school shouldn't give you problems!!! it is not their business...it is yours...they should be supportive!

congrats

I became pregnant my second term of nursing school. I already had a 2 year old and ended up having to take a term off. I still graduated with honors. I could tell there was some disapproval from the dean, but hey, what could they do? I was already admitted. You sound very determined and it can be done. Good luck.

We had pregnant girls in our class. One of them had the baby on tuesday and showed up at clinicals on thursday. You can do it.

1. You are NOT required to tell them you are pregnant.

2. They cannot legally dismiss you because you are pregnant.

3. They must make reasonable accomodations for you while you are pregnant.

So, this inquiring mind wants to know if you took the test, yet?

Another nursing instructor here...you have no obligation to share your good news with the school. Enjoy your pregnancy! It's done all the time.

I graduated recently from LVN school... we had a lady start the program at the end of May 5 months pregnant. She had her baby in September, took a week off, and got back in the water. It's very doable with a strong support network.
