Please I need HELPPPP! I failed NCLEX-RN five times.

Maybe taking up a job as a CNA in a busy metro hospital or Medical Assistant. That way, you can watch all the action as it unfolds before you. You will be learning rationales for procedures and medical decisions, you'll be learning foley and IV placement, and lab draws. You will see and hear interactions between multidisciplinary teams such as doctors, nurses, case workers, etc. Sometimes you need to see and hear and feel something before you can truly understand it. I know you are studying hard. But maybe you are more of a hands on learner. So that environment would be best for you to help you learn.

Firstly, I understand how devastating it can be to fail the NCLEX. It hurts. But you seem to be very dedicated and I applaud that. I passed the NCLEX and did a combination of Uworld, the ATI prep book that was given to us at the end of nursing school, and google. For those who don't know ATI, its from the ATI-Testing website that nursing schools often have students register (and pay a $*&@ ton of money for) to review topics and videos about how to place foleys, pass meds, etc. At the end of it, I got a great book not included in the ATI book bundle that broke down all nursing topics into the major keys points. That thing really helped and it seemed to complement Uworld nicely while I studied the rationale and made a lot of notes. I'm a tactile and visual learner mostly so writing down my notes in various ways helped me. Maybe reconsider how you study and not what you study?

That being said, you cannot keep studying the way you are. You are over studied and cannot expect to memorize the SATA questions. Its humanly impossible. With the NCLEX, go with your gut. When I was taking it, I struggled between answers and would sometimes pick things or exclude things for reasons I couldn't even tell you. My gut told me stuff I didn't even know. So, don't question yourself constantly or over think it. I know this gets harder with each NCLEX you take, but its the only thing I can say.

Don't give up! I know someone who took it 9 times in the span of 15 years and she passed on the 10th try. By the way, I passed mine on my 3rd attempt. I just took it last August 2017. I did Uworld, Kaplan and, Hurst. I don't suggest that you do 6-8 hours a day. Maximum of 3 hours would be better. On Uworld, focused on understanding the rationales especially the ones you got wrong. Also, reassess yourself on what causes you to not pass; whether it maybe test taking anxiety, English is a second language, etc. and learn how to manage it by exercising or whatever makes you feel good. Don't get hung up on how many times you took the exam and still did not pass. Believe me, you'll write your own testimonial someday on passing it. Good luck!

I teach BSN students and tutor NCLEX students. There are two parts to this process and if you have spent all of this time on content - you may need to take a break and spend some time on the process. There is a formula for construction of NCLEX questions. I'm sure UWorld and Kaplan etc. all spent time and space looking at these rules. It is possible to increase your chances of choosing the correct answer even when you're not positive about the content. The exam report from NCLEX doesn't provide a detailed assessment of your content score - neuro, pedie, OB etc, so that means that you need to make that assessment yourself with study questions. Identify and reinforce your weaknesses and keep working on the mechanics of the questions and develop strategies to make the best choice. I wish you well!

Thank you for your kind words. I want to pass this year because they are going to change the nclex format next time. At the end of my nclex exam last August 30, I have taken the testing test. They are trying the new format. I will try your suggestions to study less than 6 hours a day.

Nope, I was born in the Philippines but I graduated in nevada. I passed english test like IELTS/TOEFL.

Jeez, five times is a lot. What kind of student were you, and what grades did you earn?
Firstly, I'd suggest to not rely on God to help you pass your NCLEX (and I say this with as much religious/spiritual sensitivity). You won't pass the exam through divine intervention.
***Yes, it is true five times is a lot but I know people who pass five times or more and they are great nurses so don't mock people down by the number of attempts. Remember, nursing is not about how many times you have taken the test or how smart you are. It is a matter of caring people, loving them, and helping them to be better. Do not judge and that is also one of the nursing principle in caring patients.
***I believe in God's promises and in his great plans for my life. I know he will help me pass the NCLEX exam in the right perfect time. I did all my best. As what I said, I studied everyday for 6-8 hours and read all the rationales. I just have to do different strategies like different materials to review on and that is why I'm asking for help, suggestions and not criticizing me because I have failed five times. "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." -Ephesians 4:29. This is one of God's command in the bible.

I think you misunderstood my post. I never mocked you. Five failed NCLEX attempts simply surprised me, although I suppose I didn't need to say that. Sorry.

And about the "don't rely on God to help you pass the NCLEX" thing, I only meant that it's up to you and only you to pass this exam. God isn't taking the test for you. That's all I meant.

If I were a jerk, I would have said perhaps God made you fail five times because it's not in his/her plan for you to be a nurse...

I already offered a few suggestions that I think may help. Good luck passing your next attempt. I mean it.

i am going through the same thing. i have studied all of the above and did some review courses, i have failed 7 times already
