PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

Congrats to all who made it! I was also accepted to the RN program and I cant wait to meet all of you! My letter says I will be at the Port Richey Campus (which is an hour and 20 minutes from my house):nailbiting: Does anyone know if this is negotiable? I really wanted Porter campus.

Hi TPAMOM4, could you post your pre-req GPA, TEAS score, and if you are a Pasco or Hernando resident so we can add you to our list.

Thanks

RN composite scoring formula:

The first steps is to take your pre-req GPA and multiply by 25 then multiply that by .45.

The second step is to divide your TEAS by 2.

The third step is to add 5 points if you are a Pasco or Hernando resident.

Add your scores and that is your composite.

Example:

GPA 4.0*25=100*.45=45

TEAS 80/2=40

Resident +5

45+40+5= would have an entrance score of 90 for the program

PS: I could only put 20 smileys on the post, sorry for leaving the Bridge folks smiley free

I went back looking at the list above and wanted to say GOOD LUCK! to Busymam4 and MelissaB84. They were picked as alternates for the West Campus LPNs and it looks like we have 4 people out of our group that will be turning down West Campus LPN spots. Odds are definitely working in your favors!

Specializes in LPN.

When do the immunizations and CPR stuff have to be done?

Not sure, that info will be in the packets that get emailed :)

Got two scrub pants today! :) and tried on some shoes, but they were really expensive at the store! Any recommendations? I'd hate to order some shoes online not knowing if they fit or not...

Hi, My GPA is a 4.0, TEAS 70.7, not a resident. Thanks for adding me!

Dang Shawn, you got it down better than me lol.

Hey Sara, what I recommend with the shoes is to go to the store try on different brands to see how they fit, then look online for those shoes for a cheaper price. You're turning 18 right? I'm going to be turning 20 in Nov so you might be youngest.

That's a great idea, thanks so much Mike! I probably am, hopefully they don't treat me like the youngest though. That's something I don't deal well with haha.

Dang Shawn, you got it down better than me lol.

I had some time earlier and was bored lol
