PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

YEAH someone should ask lol. Also ask how many people applied... P:

What dept would you call? they close in 30min.

All we know is it said mid October, and considering 31 days they probably met yesterday and letters have been or will be sent out soon. By all means you are welcome to call the west campus and ask, but they are probably tired of listening to people ask so many question :smug:.

Thanks! :)

Just think if it this way, every time they have to pick up the phone (and they won't tell you anything, trust me) is another 5 minutes they are spending NOT printing and sending your letter! Just sayin' :-p

No letter today either :(

Yup no letter today :/ well we have 11 more possible days lol

Sounds funny coming from me but stay positive and do your best to relax... Or just pitch a tent next to the mail box lol

I should pitch a tent next to the long line of mailboxes out by the road, I'm sure people will be like what are you doing?

The same with me! I have a 4.o so far, and its the middle of the semester and I have aA's in my A&P class and lab. I'm working hard to make sure it stays that way. I can't wait until April 1st! I will be submitting my application on the first day!

I wish that I would have known about this site and the scoring system way back. It has a bunch of great info on it.

If I'm correct the scoring system is based on GPA, TEAS test score, and residency right?

Yes

The first step is to take your pre-req GPA and multiply by 25 then multiply that by .45.

The second step is to divide your TEAS by 2.

The third step is to add 5 points if you are a Pasco or Hernando resident.

Example:

GPA 4.0*25=100*.45=45

TEAS 80/2=40

Resident +5

45+40+5= would have an entrance score of 90 for the program
