PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

I really think we will get letters next week! The wait is driving me nuts!

MelissaRothman, I forgot to include I also need if you are a resident or not. If you could please let me know.

76-81% Porter campus RN/LPN

Jem, the letters should be sent out soon enough. I would start hovering the mailbox starting the 17th, post on here and let me know if it comes in because I don't usually worry about checking mail much.

My pre req GPA is 3.46 with 80% on the TEAS. Applied only for the RN. Hoping to get in the Porter Campus. I am not a Pasco County resident

Quest..does anyone plan on working while going to school? the schedule seems like it only allows for me to work part time

I have heard of some working full time but I am planning on not working as long as possible or maybe part-time. I don't want anything interfere with studying.

Ill be working full time

I have to work full time but I work 4 10hr shifts. If I get in I won't have a day off.

I will be working part time. I know people do work full time and do it. It can be done. When I asked advice from a current nursing student he said a lot of people think they can work full time but that it ends causing them to drop out or not do well. He said the biggest advice he could give is to lower my work load as much as possible so nursing is number one and that I exceed.

Updated souled It's also pasco/hernando resident (for pts). I hear working full time is very very difficult for nursing, like stating previously most people drop out or suffer in grades because of it. I would at most work part time if I was in the nursing program.

- . MAMAberry list might be a reference but if you look at their spread it's a lot higher than ours, I believe springs scores are a little lower and less competitive I see more people have posted their scores on here as well so maybe that's a good sign to.[/quote']

Exactly! Less applicants, more seats = better chances

Not a resident of Pasco County :/
