PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

I know I wish phsc did as well. The way I look at it is the private schools yes are alot of money but the time we are waiting trying to get in it will pay for itself in the end.

Jesss349... I live in Wesley Chapel so PHSC would of been perfect. The transition seems to really be hard to get into and when I did my LPN I only waited 8 months to get in bc at that time the TEAS was not required. So for Galen you need a 96 or higher ? Did I understand that correct ?

Correct 96 or higher I just looked at the packet.

Galen uses the pax, I felt it was easier than teas but exact same concept

Gotcha ! Lol, sorry... I actually have never heard of Pax ! Which program were you trying to get into ? I might just tour a few schools and see the pros and con's, but would love to stay PHSC considering that is the only college I have attended

Literally it's the same as the teas. Same sections etc. I wanted generic track but my current score is ok for lpn. I might do that so I'm not waiting time.

I'm so bummed I've already wasted 4 years getting a bachelors degree and am still wanting to get my bachelors in nursing and I just took a position at Florida Hospital and my schedule is PERFECT for the Porter campus nursing courses schedule ugh maybe next semester.

Aec2210 there is a program for people that already have a bachelor's in any field. It's called second bachelor's in nursing it's only 16 months. I can't think of the name right now but I believe it's based in St pete alot of online classes I heard

Hey all, congrats on getting accepted to the program!!! :) I just graduated with my RN in May. I have ALL practically brand new books still ( I bought only 10 months ago at PHSC and barely used them) for the nursing program. I also have a never used lab coat, phsc shirt for school events, and lots more!!! If anyone is interested in buying them for a cheap cheap price (cheaper than any website would sell you at a used price) then email me at [email protected]. My books are just sitting here waiting to be used. ;)

They don't update the book editions from year to year?

So excited!! I emailed my acceptance of a seat at Porter today!

Yay! So excited to meet everyone
