PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

I started a FB group for us!! We can all help each other through the next two years!! My phone won't let me copy the link right now but just search "PHSC Nursing Students Fall 2015"

I didn't receive an email or a letter, I'm pretty sure I have been denied due to my composite score not being so great... I'm pretty sad and bummed but all I can do is try to raise my TEAS score and apply next year Next year June just seems so far away !! Congrats to everyone that got in !!

You can try for Porter campus, which starts in January! The application period just opened this week. I submitted an app as a backup. But worst case scenario for both of us- next June shouldn't be nearly as competitive without the seats held for paramedics. Hang in there!

The deadline is June 27th

Thank you! And here you go... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1467429463570869/

Thank you HelloNurseCM !! I will try for Porter but there will only be 24 seats open which is also going to be tough to get into but I am going to try ! I am also going to try retaking the TEAS and hope for the best í ½í¸Š The TEAS test is no joke and I have total testing anxiety. I hope next year is a better year !

I'm in the same boat. I'm pretty bummed to my teas score can improve however I'm going to look into galen.

Jesss349... If you don't mind me asking, what was your TEAS score ? I have thought about other schools myself. Jersey College is about 28,000 and they want me to redue some of my classes bc they are over 5 years old and the program is 15 months long.Rasmussen is 30,000 and is 18-24 months they told me. I also thought about Galen but am hearing mixed reviews about them

68 I only took it once. Galen I believe is completely accredited, is jersey?

I looked into rasmussen last semester I heard bad things when talking to students. Everyone at galen I've heard great reviews. Galen said they would take all my transfer classes too, I believe rasmussen as well.

Jesss349 I don't believe Jersey Is Regionally accredited but I'm not sure. I might just look into Galen as well. Do they have a waiting list ? TEAS a must ? You did better then me on the TEAS, its a tough test !

I wish PHSC would have more start dates or add more campuses for RN programs

No waiting list. I took a tour of the school and met with advisor they seemed great. Where do you live I live in land o lakes. Galen is in St pete. .45 minutes for me. I 94 on galen teas. Let me look at my packet for galen as long as you pass the teas with certain scores you can get right in.

Ok so galen is regionally accredited.

teas scores :

Lpn 92 or above

rn bridge 96 or above

generic rn 100 or above

they grade different than phcc. There is out of 150 points I believe (don't quote me on that). Also if you do there lpn program as long as you pass you are granted admission to the rn-bsn program.
