PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

What's connie's email??

Never mind I found it! She said she's still in the process of notifying all applicants.

Yes! I emailed her back after receiving the alternate email asking if alternates should anticipate attending orientation. This is a c&p from her response:

"At this time, orientation is only for newly accepted nursing students. And yes, you are correct, I am super busy still trying to notify all applicants! Thank you for your patience and have a good evening!"

So if you haven't heard yet, stay positive!

Nothing! ! Congrats cm

My overall gpa was not great sp I'm wondering if that is the difference has to be since my composite isn't horrible :-( oh well will Def be taking the teas over and applying for spring!! Congrats to you all :-) hello nurse I hope you get a spot!!

You've got this! My gpa is pretty terrible. We will both get in any time now. ;)

Three Campuses? I thought there were only two....

There are 3 campuses that offer the program: East, West, and Porter, but you can only apply to 2 campuses, as per the PHSC "Admission to RN Generic Program" web page... "Applicants may submit up to two application packets for admission on two different campuses." (c&p from that page).

Connie confirmed this for me the other day. She stated that, "You can not apply to, nor be accepted at all 3 campuses for the RN Generic Program. You can only apply to 2". She also said that there may be some confusion due to the fact that the West/East campuses are combined on 1 application and are also combined on the acceptance emails, so people have assumed that they were accepted to both, on top of Porter, when in fact it is an either/or situation. For instance, I applied to West campus and Porter, and got accepted to both but at the top of the acceptance email it states: "Re: AS-NGT @ W/E and AS-NGT @ PC Beginning fall term August 24, 2015 - OFFER". This sort of makes it look like I was offered a spot at all 3 campuses, when in fact it is just 2. If accepted to both, you have until July 27th to choose which seat you would like. If you don't reply by then you lose both spots and they move on to an alternate.

I'm in Costa Rica still. Came back in from surfing and got the email. I got accepted to Porter and East. I'll be going to Porter :)

Congrats all !!!

I'm having a hard time deciding which campus to accept I live about 15 minutes away from West and about 45 min away from East and Porter. I want Wo accept East/West but that doesn't guarantee me at West and if I'm going to drive 45 minutes to school I'd rather drive to Porter. I'm planning on emailing my acceptance of a seat today, but unsure of which I should accept. Any suggestions or does anyone know how they determine which campus to place you at?

Can you ask Connie which campus East/West you got into?? I would call and find out. Why are they making it so confusing for everyone by putting East/West on everything?!

Someone on a previous post said they pick Which campus you go to by your address but I'm not certain. I'm going to Porter so you should too! ; )
