Hi! I am in Chandler. I have two small children (one with special needs) and am a prenursing student so I have NO life. lol! But I wanted to give you a warm welcome. Do you work at Banner Desert?
Thanks guys:)
I like Chandler so far. I just dont even think ive grasped how BIG Phoenix really is. I just need to get out and drive around this city. It's such a change from the midwest. It's culture shock;) I just started my new job at St. Joe's. Im still in orientation and awaiting to take the NCLEX :monkeydance:
So besdies St. Joe's, what is worth seeing downtown?? Any neat places to walk around, shops?

Hey "GO BUCKS"!! I am living in Columbus at present, but am taking an assignment in Mesa Jan.'07. Have lived here for 6 yrs--climate leaves alot to be desired! Previously lived in Dallas area for 24 yrs. Anyway, have been to Az. on several occasions. If you like to sight see there is ALOT to keep you busy for awhile. Sedona is gorgeous (approx. 2 hr.drive). Jerome is a cool little town built on the side of a mountain. Somewhat closer then Sedona. Tortilla Flats -take Superstition hwy. Of course there is Tombstone, but that's more like 3 hours from phx. Try Kartchner Caverns towards Tombstone VERY interesting! There are alot of missions with great history behind them. I haven't been to Flagstaff or Prescott yet, but I sure will do that this trip!!! I drove to Crown King-- that's a different experience. 26 miles of unpaved road with a general store?! I got tics to the bowl game in GlendaleO--H--I--O GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Bucks!!

you got tickets?!?!?! You are so lucky!
I agree with what everyone has said so far. I am in Chandler too--LOVE being close the the mall and all the restaurants in the area! I recommend Mill Avenue in Tempe as well...there are cute shops and Tempe Town Lake is right up the street and is a fun place to walk or jog. Also this weekend on Mill(starting tomorrow I think) is the Tempe Arts Festival. There are tons of booths with local artists, musicians and photographers, etc.......and FOOD! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and warm up a bit this weekend to make it a little more enjoyable. :) WELCOME!
If you want to go out to eat there are several great places around the Chandler Mall...the Elephant Bar is great. Also the Keg is great place to eat at the Mall. Chandler...has a winery in the downtown area...with a small resturant...if you like that kind of place....fun. If you like plays...the Hale Theater is great ...has great seating. There are so many wonderful places in the valley...it will just take time to enjoy them all!!

Well I finally made it! I have made the long journey from Ohio to AZ! I am getting started in my job and settling down here in Chandler! So far I love it.
I agree with the other posts that it is a beautiful state. Much more exciting than Ohio.
So, all you natives, tell me, what is there to do in this town?? Where are all the famous spots in Phoenix?? I literally know no one here besides my family that moved with me. I have only been here 1 week. Ive been slowly exploring Chandler/Mesa/Tempe. My fiancee and I love the theatre, dining out (all restaurants from fast food to fine dining), shopping, out door activities, museums, bar hopping occasionally....:)
