This thread is for anyone applying to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Graduate Advancement Program in Pediatrics (GAPP) which is scheduled to start in July 2011. :nurse:

Has anyone applied or heard anything yet? My application still says HR is reviewing it.

Are there any current or past GAPP graduates out there that can give some advice to us hopeful new grads?!

Good luck to all those applying to this program. The job market is harsh right now for new grads.

I'm already working as an RN as well but with adults. I wanted to change to peds. When did they say they would let u know?

They said we would know in a week or two. I think that they ask those who interviewed for a Med/Surg spot whether or not they wanted a PICU or ED interview and a few of those candidates would be chosen for such. I don't know if some candidates will get a PICU and ED interview but not a Med/Surg interview, though. Best of luck still!

I thought I read that they weren't going to be calling people back around the 20th of May. But people are getting called earlier, so I don't know if that's bad for me since I haven't been called yet. I want so bad to work with peds especially at pch. Do you currently work in med/surg right now?

Well, I guess letting you know in a week or 2 means that they are still interviewing so hopefully I still have a chance for them to call me. I called the recruiter AGAIN and still no call back. I can't handle this waiting, so discouraging, you know. But thanks for the luck cuz i sure need it at this point.

Hey blessed2011,

I am a new grad and I have not gotten an interview yet. Just same status since I applied. :confused: Maybe they are done with interviews now? Hopefully not, I did my leadership and capstone in a Children's Center and loved it and I want this position SOOOOO badly.. Good luck to everyone else on here who is still waiting, hopefully we will know something soon!

Hi Lily2011, I believe they were starting to call people on May 20th but as I'm sure u saw on this thread dome people got called for an interview prior to that date. Hopefully we get called to so we at least have a chance.

The wait is killing me too! I just want to know already! Hopefully we will both get jobs at PCH! I know they were doing interviews at the beginning of the week but I hope they make a decision soon (when I say soon, I mean tomorrow or Thursday LOL). Ill keep you updated on any changes!

I interviewed for general peds position. When I spoke with the nurse recruiter initially, I had said that I would like to interview for ED or PICU but she then told me that they have more open positions for general peds.... so I said that I would like to interview for general peds since I have a better chance and the odds are better. :lol2:
