Phoenix Children's Hospital New Grad Program (GAPP) Summer 2011

Published

This thread is for anyone applying to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Graduate Advancement Program in Pediatrics (GAPP) which is scheduled to start in July 2011. :nurse:

Has anyone applied or heard anything yet? My application still says HR is reviewing it.

Are there any current or past GAPP graduates out there that can give some advice to us hopeful new grads?!

Good luck to all those applying to this program. The job market is harsh right now for new grads.

I landed an interview too!!!

Congrats!!! Good luck to you too!!:yeah:

AZWildcat, how'd the interview go??? Hope it went well!

Thanks for asking! I felt that it went really well. :D I have had a couple interviews at other hospitals and I didnt feel that confident, but this time I feel really good about it. The clinical supervisor I met with was really nice. Im supposed to know in a couple weeks wether or not I received a job offer for the position. Did you apply also?

Wow congrats on getting an interview. I'm so nervous because I am not a new grad but want experience with peds. But haven't gotten a call yet, I'm getting so discouraged now since people are getting called and I haven't heard anything at all. Mine said the same thing that my application was currently being actively reviewed and hasn't changed. I applied on April 27th, so Im really nervous. Any suggestions????

You can try calling the nurse recruiter to see whats goin on with your application, but wen I spoke with her last week when she scheduled my interview she said that they would be doing interviews for the general peds units and would be doing interviews for the ED and PICU a little later so you may still hav sum time. You may be able to get more definitive answers if you talk to the nurse recruiter though. Good Luck.

Thanks KBnurse2B! I hope u get an interview as well since I know u want to work in phoenix due to ur husband living here.

I got your email but for some reason I can't respond?! Anyway, THANKS for thinking of me :D

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and PCH!

Thanks for the warm wishes! I believe you cant respond to messages until you have 15 posts. No problem, us new grads have to look out for one another! :)

AZWildcat, I can't respond to your PM either, but my interview went very well. Now I sit and wait for a call...ugh!!!!! Waiting is the worst part. I'll letcha know if I get a call, and you do the same, please! Good luck to everyone waiting for a call, keep up hope because I know that they are still in the interview process!

Thx AZWILDCAT. I tried calling and leaving a msg b4 but no call back I called today and the receptionist said you can try leaving another msg but they get hundreds a day so they might not b able to call u back. So I don't know what to do keep calling or just wait. Man this is killing me!!

Cindyloo. On your interview did they quiz u on meds or procedures or anything like that?

No, they didn't do any of that, but I'm already working as an RN. Did they ask u those types of questions?

Haven't been called yet for interview. Was UR interview for med/surg? Or did they let u pick between PICU ER OR MED/SURG
