dear all, is it hard to get into Phillips Beth Israel School of nursing?? i heard they require to take the pre-nursing exam and do you guys know what subject of matter test on the exam?? is it hard?? since i never take any biology before!!
Great job on your exam!! The best of luck to you. I have not heard anything yet from the school, so I am kind of being realistic and I think its a no go...but that is alright..I did find out I got into a school close by, not my first choice, but hey I am excited I got in somewhere...its really tough to get into nursing schools these days!
Hi everyone,
I received my NLN scores today. They're OK, not great. I have a composite score of 126 and my percentages were 87 and 89. I'm hopeful because Shana J and I have the exact same scores and she was accepted. I need to take my final for an incomplete I have in Chemistry for last semester. I really wanted to do better. I could bite my lip for not paying attention and rushing to fill in answers for the last two pages of the science sectoin. Good luck everyone.
Congrats Liz and honeycuts.
I got my scores about a week ago.
43 in English (I had to guess the last 15 cuase the comprehension passages were so interesting that after skimming and answering the questions I foolishly went back to re read the sections. So I ran out of time)
38 in math with plenty of time to spare (cause after English I was not playing :) )
49 in science and I haven't looked at a Physics book since 1987
composit 143/98%, no studying cause I really didn't know what to study.
Still I am freeking out cause my GPA is about 2.6 (I got a few Fs a while back cause I didn;t withdraw from some classes when my shift changed and I was unable to continue. Before I dropped out and then returned)
I don't even know where to apply besides the school that I am at now (NYCCT) LIU and all og the other schools (besides CUNY) are so expensive that I know there is no way for me to afford the tuition
So I hope I make it into NYCCT's program this fall.
Hi Everyone,
So I emailed PBISON this morning and they said that they have not yet received the NLN scores from the March 30 test date - even though I received them in the mail last wk.
They asked that I fax over my score report, which I did today... I would recommend that if you recently took the test, to follow up with them. They are extremely helpful and are willing to help move the process along!
Has anyone scheduled an interview yet??
Good luck to all!
Just a little FYI, I applied for a private school that is about $11,000 a semester and I got grants, scholarships and loans..it covers everything...So, I never thought I would be applying for a private college either, but I ran out of options..so, believe it or not, you most likely will not have to pay for a dime..I would just apply for the heck of it and see what kind of grants, etc will cover it! Best of luck to you
Blissgirl-
My composite score was 158 and composite percentile was 99%.
I felt that I did well on the verbal and math sections - finished both with time to spare. I have a BA in Biochemistry, so the science section did not faze me too much, though there were more 'circuit' problems than I anticipated...
I think I read on another thread on this site that they only began interviewing at the end of March - and I think they keep interviewing through May - so you never know!!
Good luck!!!
I just received my NLN scores in the mail today - took the exam on 3/30... 158/99% - so relieved!!!!I emailed Ms. Gallo last wk and she said that all that was needed were my scores. I plan on following up again on Monday to make sure that they have everything...
Good luck to everyone!!!
HELLO, I took the exam on the 3/30 at 430pm to 830 pm too i got my score too but can you please help me interpret the result?
Congrats Liz and honeycuts.I got my scores about a week ago.

Wow congratulation, i di my exam 3/30 at Beth isreal just got the result....sigh** Although I passed I did not even do close to what you have. I did not study for it at all I think that is the reason why. but my GPA is not that bad...i guess we win some and lose some...i think everything will work out just fine for you. Good luck.

Hey Blissgirl
Did you apply for other loans besides Stafford loans? If so, from where?
Where were you looking for grants and scholarships? Now that I am in school, I am trying to get $ together to pay for it and I would love any advice as it sounds like you have figured it out.
Thanks

Ashcarr,
I still have not heard anything from the school...
It has been about a week since they received all of my info. I spoke to a Maria Gallo and she said the Admissions Committee now has it for review. She said that on April 2nd. Do you think I still might have a shot? So, you said you heard from them in a week...It will be six days tomorrow.
