Phillips Beth Israel Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....

Guys, does anyone know, do we have to purchase our own stethoscopes?

Thanks!

Hi guys! I hope everyone is doing great. I wanted to let you all know that if you need Developmental Psychology, there is an online class with lots of seats at Herkimer Community College. The course is SS 152 (*********** provided the information, so it's definitely acceptable.) The only catch is that Herkimer's online registration is down for awhile, but you can still apply for admission online then save yourself a spot through the registrar's office.

There are also a few seats open for the Ethics class at Finger Lakes. I can't decide if I should take two summer courses or not.

I also couldn't find an open nutrition course. I guess we'll be taking that one at PBISON.

Here is the course schedule for Beth Isreal you guys can look at http://www.webcollege.net/PBIReg/Anonymous/Catalog1.aspx

Herkimer's registration is offline until Sunday but you can register by shooting the registrar an email with the class name and section. They respond quick since my sister has added and dropped courses plenty of times this way. It will usually take them only about a day or a couple of hours to respond.

You can also use SUNY's online course search to find courses for the summer http://catalog.sln.suny.edu/content.php?catoid=7&navoid=54

nur100 and 101 are not up yet i guess???

I will be there on the 20th but during the day. I have my last class that night for micro.

For those thinking of taking Ethics at Finger Lakes College, I would do it. I'm finishing up with the class on the 25th of June. I had to write a paper a week and read 1-2 chapters a week. It wasn't bad at all. The discussion boards are fun and entertaining.

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

Question for those of you in ATOP (and I get the feeling some of you may refer me to ask admissions about this but thought someone here would know so I ask first here :D ...):

I am interested in applying to the ATOP program for next year, and according to the school catalog the program is "[o]pen only to students who have completed all of the curriculum’s science and liberal arts corequisites, with the exception of Nutrition & Diet Therapy and Pharmacology." I personally will have completed all the sciences and liberal arts by next spring AND I am finishing up Nutrition next week at my present college.

Can I still be considered for ATOP even though I completed Nutrition already at another school? Have not taken nor do I plan to take Pharmacology until the nursing program.

Thanks in advance for replies!

yes, you can still apply.

sk the schedules for full time are up...everythign is up basically...traditional program is probably anything that is m-f during the day,

So, weird question (and don't judge me :saint:), but does anyone know when we have to take the drug test? I don't drink, smoke or do anything else, but on occasion I like to smoke weed, and I just want to make sure it's completely out of my system. Thanks

Just got the email with the Karpas schedule. Is anyone else thinking of taking any of these? I did well on my entrance exam but I'm thinking it can't hurt to at least take the Chem course and maybe the Math. I know I could always brush up myself but having a class to attend will force me to be extra diligent when I know I'd rather be off enjoying my last few weeks of freedom!

I think I will take the chem too. It's definitely my weak point.

Hey Marcos, no idea when the drug test is, but I believe you should be fine if you haven't smoked for about a month before the test. No judgment. :) Just be careful. It's not worth messing up your future, so it's a good idea to quit ASAP.
