Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....
i was thinking 3 each top and pants? you are required to get at least 1 lab coat (bc it has an emblem on it) and 2 tops and 2 pairs of pants. it says the skirt is available mainly for those who require to wear a skirt. i would rather wear pants personally. haha. you also cannot wear a skirt and sneakers i don't think...i'm not sure. i was reading through the handbook - bc i found it online somehow through their website and they say something about white "shoes" and we can't wear sneakers? I'm not sure what the deal is but i know i def want to invest in new sneaks! lol
Oh well, guess I can't reuse the lab coat. No biggie. 3 sounds like a good number Starlette. As far as the sneakers go, I think they probably want you to get those "special" white sneakers (some are clogs, others look like loafers). Don't know where to get them though. I think Easy Spirit carries a few but I'm not sure.
I'm still spying on you guys lol and I don't think any nursing program allows sneakers. They have to be white nurse shoes lol. That's what my school says and we can't even wear crocs so kind of tennis shoe-ish. The school will probably tell you a few places you can pick them up.
At least you guys get a blue shirt, our entire uniform for our program is white -_-
Hello ladies! Hope all is well with all of you. I just spoke with MG, I'm in ATOP for Fall!! I'm super excited! I'm going to pick up my packet tomorrow because the deadline for financial aid is fast approaching. For those who are still waiting give MG a call. The committee apparently met yesterday so you may also get some good news today.

That's awesome. I'm not really a skirt wearing kind of girl (except for certain occasions). I'd rather wear pants or shorts when I can. So nice to hear that we can get pants. The blue and white would look really nice together. I want them to call me already! I'm becoming soooo impatient. I'm actually crossing off the days on my calendar, lol.
If I get accepted do you think I could use the lab coat I have already? I had to get one for microbiology.
