Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....
I feel like I haven't been on here in forever! Congratulations starlette!! How is everyone else who's waiting holding up? Hang in there guys. Those acceptances will be here before you know it!
BTW - Does anyone know what type of a PDA they want us to get, or that we're allowed to by? I'm leaving my job soon and they thought it might make a nice farewell gift - works for me!
Kem-I got an iPod touch. I think it's just so much better. I didn't get an iPhone bc I have verizon. And I think that it might be better to not have phone features just in case the hospitals we do our clinicals in don't allow phones on the floors. I have a blackberry tour but didn't want to use that bc the battery sucks and dies really fast. Not sure what the PDA requirements r
@Jayzelena - I applied to the traditional program. Which program did you apply to? I hope you dreams have been positive and not nightmares about not getting in! Last night I had a dream that I overslept for my A&P lab and then I woke up in a panic and realized the semester was actually over. Next to the random anxiety dreams about my teeth falling out, dreams about missing a class or exam/assignment are the worst.
9 days to go...
At my interview I had asked when orientation would be and I was told on August the 24th. It's 2 days I think. Do you really think that people really get rejection letters after the interview? When I was at the interview she basically made it sound like it's very rare that the people that they interview are not accepted except if there is really something strange about the person. They want to make sure that you fit the bill of what they are looking for in a nurse. They try to picture what a patient would think of you in a hospital etc. setting. I know this wait has been torturous but I think if we have come this far it has to turn out good! 1 more week!

Hey Jayzelena! This waiting is so stressful!
I have to think that since we haven't received rejection letters at this point that we are putting ourselves through unnecessary stress. I keep telling myself, 'no news is good news' --- at least that is what is keeping me from pulling my hair out.
I'm amazed at how important and critical getting accepted to BI is for me as opposed to my undergraduate college experience. I didn't care back then. Now, it is all I think about!
