Phillips Beth Israel Applicants

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....

Thanks so much Jay and Sarah. I have never been SOOO nervous for an interview but I will do my best to show them how much I really want this. Thank you everyone for posting such good advice.

My interview was set for 11:30, I finally met the wonderful MG who I believe is my saving grace. My interview was a little shy of 2 hours it went really well. I can say while my GPA is high (3.9) my NLN scores were not. My personal statement, experience in the medical field and references is what I believed granted me an interview. Due to the fact I had no Sciences she went over the 3 year program and said a few times "when you get the acceptance package", "you start school late August" and "I will fight for you in our next committee meeting". I still have to wait til June 15 to email MG but I feel really positive about this. I just hope that the rest of the committee believes in me the way MG and LF has.

I had my interview with BS. I think it well really well. I had the opposite with my scores. I did really well on my NLN scores and my GPA (which if from a while ago) wasn't too hot. She said that I would have to CLEP my sociology and physcology since I had taken mine in Canada and the requirements are a bit different here. So inorder not to go too crazy next year I need to take these in the next couple of months. Mind you I'm also taking Anatomy II in June. I to didn't get a difinitive answer however, she kept saying..."when you get the package...orientation is...the fitting for the uniforms with be... The unnerving part is that June 15th date. I hope we are right about our intincts!
