Phillips Beth Israel Applicants

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....

So.. I just took the NLN April 5th and I thought the math was the hardest part , I didnt get to finish all the questions before time ran out:confused:: , Im so depressed and hoping a miracle will happen!!!:crying2::crying2: dont think i have a chance after seeing some of the scores here.

Hey GM...Don't feel bad I didn't do so hot either I got an 82. Do you have decent grades?

You might be surprised by your test results...remember not all the questions count towards your grade. I believe 20 questions from each section don't count so you might have done better than you think

Question: If you have a few Withdrawals from classes on your transcripts do you think that this will hinder you from getting accepted? If they're Ws and not considered Fs (if you withdraw before a certain time), I thought did not count in your official transcripts?

OMG Thank you , I didnt know that about the 20 questions.

my grades are decent , I already have a BS so i have all the sciences and I'm an xray technologist at a hospital so I'm keeping hope that my hospital experience will help me, but I dont know, all I can do now is wait and see.

i was wondering how do you get your grades, in the mail?

gm...you should be fine. I have a question Is it true that the starting salary for an xray tech is around $60,000 a year? As long as your grades are decent and you didnt completely bomb the NLN I think you should be fine....I bet you that you did better than you think you did.

Vintage: Which classes do you have W's in? As long as you dont have more that 2 W's in A&P classes I think you'll be ok. I have a W also because I had the flu and had no choice....I dont think it will be that big of a deal. As long as you don't have an F I would think then that you're good

Kuklara..starting for xray is for sure not that high it's more like 50k but it depends on where you work.

Yes Kuklara, I think I am going to do exactly that. I took classes over the summer last year so I could really use the break. In all reality this is probably my last summer free so I'm gonna enjoy it! Try not to stress too much about NCC. The letter will come. Try not to hurt the mailman! LOL!

Hi guys,

I got my NLN grades finally in the mail and I did ok. I got composite 138 and 96%. I am happy with my scores because the test felt so painful I felt like I had to laugh , cry and vomit at the same time.(lol) I guess I was just very nervous. I really , really want to get in to BI (like all of us.)

Starlette- what kinds of questions were u asked on the interview?
