PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!

Published

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

Oh my goodness lol. Could she have been any more mysterious with that answer? It does kind of sound like they did meet though but who knows! Why, oh why, does it have to be such a big secret?!

SO THEY COULD COME SOONER! Oh my gosh, I feel like the more info we get the more stir crazy I get. THIS IS SO ROUGH!!!

Someone sent me this yesterday...thought you all would appreciate it as well ;-P

You know, SPC emails EVERYONE on July 1st. It's not a secret, we just know that's when it happens. Why can't it be that way here?? Just tell us when and it's done!?! Anyone been around here and old enough to remember Charter? They are going to have to admit me ;)

ScarletJones,

Well, my husband is the reason for my career change. We were spending our vacation (coming from Russia), June 2011, in our home in Hernando Beach and he did not feel very well. After a visit to neurologist we found out he had a large brain tumor and I from the doctor I drove him straight to Tampa General and the next day they operated on him, actually it was exactly today 3 years ago!

To cut the story short, we stayed here and I was taking care of him until he passed away in Sep. 2012.

Actually starting at PHSC 6 months after that, was supposed to be just a "get-out-of-house" for me, since I had absolutely no family or friends here.

I guess you never know what life throws at you!

Oh honey, I'm so sorry. >

I think you made the right move regarding going to school for many reasons.

You sound like you're in a good place. I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors .

So... MY personal analysis was not that they had to meet still, but that they have met and are going to be giving her the information for her to put together and mail out?? So, maybe she puts the letters together and starts mailing by end of week? Of course, I read into a lot, but why word it that you are expecting to hear from the committee if they haven't even met yet? ;)

Excited!! But, keeping my anticipation at bay too so I don't get disappointed.

I agree with your analysis. I think they probably met within the past few days. It's *possible* we might see something this weekend.

I just spoke with someone from admissions and they told me that all of our letters will be mailed out from the west campus no matter where you dropped your application off at, so that's why they say first week of July at the latest. He said that the committee typically meets sometime the third week and letters are received during the 4th week for Fall semesters. Since this was a generic message with no certainty of whether they have met. After reviewing the previous post with the mysterious admissions woman I wonder if they met today, I mean she is anticipating the letters right?. Lol. I tried calling Porter Campus first and they don't have any information, they were the ones who said to call west campus.

Out of curiosity, are Scarlet and I the only ones on here applying to generic RN for WEST campus?

Tormenting moment of the day (which arguably could be every single day the mailman comes...): The mailman STOPPED at our mailbox and got out like he was going to deliver something to the door and THEN.............went to the neighbors' house. I am contemplating relocating my home office to the kitchen table temporarily so that I'm not waiting on the mailman every single day. It's stressing me out! Lol

So far, I think we are the only ones... I haven't seen anyone else mention west campus.

Gabby - good try ... I bet they are only allowed to disclose generic info. I personally think they met and it's a matter of time before they round up the hundreds of letters that need to go out. I wouldn't be surprised if we got them in batches.

afwife-?? I feel your pain
