Well, I am finished with the pre-reqs, as of December. Have taken the TEAS once but will take it again. I have met with a few advisors and one prof in the nursing dept on East. I cannot get any clear and concise information really and it's frustrating. My GPA is relatively low, comparatively (sp?) and I am trying to guage my actual chances of getting into the program. I am only applying to PHCC (either campus) and the not knowing is killing me.
So where is everyone else? I am ready to get my stuff turned in. And then the wait.
Congrats to everyone that got in! I got a letter stating that I am an alternate for the night/weekend PN program. Does anyone have an estimate of how many people get chosen as alternates? I have already asked the college and of course they do not give out any of that " top secret information". Also, is there anyone of there that got accepted into the night/weekend PN program and are not accepting it? My fingers are crossed!
I got into the night/weekend and day LPN programs and will be declining both. I know of a couple of other people who will be declining the LPN programs, too so hold out! Congrats hopefulyandhappy I'm sure you'll be at orientation in August :yelclap:
OK so I didn't get nearly as far as Pasco. I have class from 9:30 to 1p and so only had a few minutes to spare (paying the babysitter $10/hour makes me hustle and use my time effectively!!) So since I had class in M, I hopped down to the nursing dept mainly because I wanted to get a handle on the LPN program.
Sidebar: for anyone who is going that direction with the desire to bridge, be aware it is definitely a 3 year road (Pasco, I think you mentioned that in one of our PMs and I either didnt believe it or chose not to. You were right) That combined with the way I see hospitals pushing LPNs out the door combined with not getting tuition reimbursement for an LPN program, basically solidified me not going to the LPN route and hedging on RN. Again. God save me. lol
As for the "who got in and how" debacle, I asked someone (who shall remain nameless) in the nursing dept about the people on here (Pasco, Hopeful and Joyous) She basically said that that is all handled by admissions and in a nice way basically said "someone's probably lying" She said to talk to someone in admissions. But I doubt she will give any kind of factual info like the lowest GPA or TEAS accepted for this class.
So for now, I will wait to try again for spring and basically ride Pasco and Joyous' coattails and hope they find out more info than I did. I will call someone today or tomorrow and see if I can get an appt with her when I am back on campus on Wed. *shrug*

Interesting.....even though I received a seat for the fall program, I am just as curious as everyone else is as to how admissions rolled this cycle. Right now, I feel like I was lucky to get in, even though I had a pretty damn awesome TEAS score and flawless GPA....however, I do know others who were in the same boat as I was, and didn't make the cut. Just doesn't seem fair, nor does it seem logical--considering we were all strictly informed as to how the top 24 were being chosen: GPA, TEAS, and residency.
I'm sorry to see that you will be declining LPN, but I understand entirely where you are coming from. I wish you the ABSOLUTE BEST, and will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone else who will still be pursuing their ambitions.
Okay, so I applied for both night and day LPN and I received my letters. I am an alternate for both day and night... I am so bummed! My TEAS was only an 82 though so I was worried it wasn't high enough. I see that a few ppl have or are declining the LPN program. I just wish I knew where I was on the alternate list....... This is ridiculous!

Interesting, looking at the bridge program I guess it depends on where you were at in finishing RN coreqs; I had all but 2 finished so it will only take me an extra semester because they are prereqs for RN Bridge.
I know it is a less than ideal way of obtaining your RN for many but in the end I will still reach my goal.

I'm not sure...the woman wrote down my info. and said for the advising department's sake, since they will undoubtedly get a lot of these calls, they would like to know hard numbers for acceptances, denials, and alternates. I'm not expecting a re-review anytime soon. She asked me if I am absolutely positive though if anyone made alternate or got in with lower scores than myself. I asked what would be their incentive to lie about that if they are in such a good standing right now??? I'llbe alright! Hope Chris does OK too!
