did anyone find a good workbook or a book that helps with the pharmacology component of the nclex,i have the kaplan 300 flashcards,
it is crazy to study all of them
maybe there is some kind of a workbook,
i have been studying from many different resources and it seems to me
that the practice tests add more and more information
on each drug, even though i already looked it up.
i heard that nclex contains drugs that no one has ever heard of.
what gives?:redbeathe

would you suggest buying a kaplan flashcard? i've been thinking about whether to buy it or not. is it helpful?
The best thing that helped me to pass the medications portion of the test, was to just learn drugs according to their classes. Not necessarily remembering specifics for each medication. If you can learn the prefix or suffix of common medications, that will help you recognize them on the test. But of course there will be certain meds that stick out in each class, and its important to remember those. Well good luck to you, and I hope this helps. Sorry I don't have a specific book to help you out with.

How do I learn the prefix or suffix? Is there a book for this?

Umm, for example beta blockers end in olol, and ace inhibitors end in pril. Those two examples are suffixes. Also the penicillins, have cillin in their names. Those are some examples of recognizing names within drugs. Let me knnow if you need anymore help.
DONT study all of those Kaplan med flashcards!!!! The chances of getting meds you know on NCLEX are slim to none, the ones I got were ones I had never heard of. Just know the major ones...antibiotics, coumadin, heparin, aspirin, Tylenol...otherwise, i dont think its worth it. I only studied a few major meds and I only passed in 75 questions! Don't stress out too much! Just do lots of practice questions!!!
Thank you so much I really appreciate this!

In my opinion you should know your classes and prefixes and suffixes. A lot of people that I went to school with are just testing and the one common thing that they all have shared is that they were presented with an awful lot of pharm questions. Some finished in 75 others low 100's and a few went into the 200's and two of them went the distance. They all said that the majority of their questions were pharm related. Just my two cents.
