Just got My ATT
I felt the more beneficial part of the Kaplan review course is the online component that they provide you vs. the in class portion. Plus just keep looking for a new test time daily and should pop up as people change their days and times more frequently than you would imagine. Good Luck!

Gay male nurse stereotype?
I don't receive the gay stereotype from people when they ask what I do. Although what seems to drive the questions are the gross factor. I'm surprised how many people equate nursing with a$$ wiping and bodily fluid cleanup. I'm always a little perplexed by this.

Tell me your GPA. Just wanna compare
I entered with a 3.375 and left at a 3.75 I had raised it as high as 3.85. Be careful to not get a B a in your 9-10 credit classes if your a GPA hound, as they can really drag you down.

Pharmacology and the Nclex?
In my opinion you should know your classes and prefixes and suffixes. A lot of people that I went to school with are just testing and the one common thing that they all have shared is that they were presented with an awful lot of pharm questions. Some finished in 75 others low 100's and a few went into the 200's and two of them went the distance. They all said that the majority of their questions were pharm related. Just my two cents.

Associates or Bachelors?
Great advice! I recently finished my ADN program and we have a one year add-on for BSN that I have been contemplating doing this year, or waiting one additional year to complete.

How did you react to your first code?
The first code that I participated in I ended up giving chest compressions. It was the first time that I had ever performed CPR on a real person. At first I found it hard to get into the groove right at the start. Luckily I had an very nice and experienced RT working right next to me, and he corrected my pace and depth calmly and quietly. I was thankful with the correction I was able to settle down and focus on the situation more fully. It was intimidating for sure. Before this I had been present at another code and stood in the wings and even this was intimidating, but educational.

Do you count resps every time you do vitals?
I think where you see repetitive numbers are when individuals only count the respirations over 10 seconds and multiply. In 10 seconds most people only breathe 3, 4, or 5 times and this would reflect certain caregivers charting their patients only seem to have respirations of 12, 16, or 20. If you counted the patient for he proper minute of course the tally is almost always different. Of course dependent on condition is when I take vitals but I always make sure on respiration to take full complete sets q4h. When viewing my patient from the station or charting areas I will reassess this occasionally as chest rise in most patients is easy to see from a distance. Just my two cents.

265 questions on nclex bad or good?
Good luck to you. When I was taking the HESI's in school we had to maintain an academic standard which I fell below 2 out of 15 times and the second time it made me really search for motivation to be prepared. I hope that you do well. I felt awful with just my HESI's I know that it must be magnified with the NCLEX.

265 questions on nclex bad or good?
I think 265 just feels bad... I tested yesterday and felt like I was holding my own up through 150. From there on out I really felt that it was an uphill battle. I had so many Pharm questions. I left feeling pretty bummed out. I'm keeping my hopes up though.
