Personality Test for Specialty

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Here is a personality test to see which area of nursing you may fit in with the best. It is 130 questions but it goes pretty quickly. They will ask you the same question multiple times which is normal.

Post your results!

My top three were rheumatology, general internal med, and hematology.

These were my top 3

1. dermatology

2. pediatrics

3. emergency medicine

Have no clue how dermatology got on there. Never ever considered that. The other 2 fit.

God Bless,

Mary Ann

My top three are pediatrics, rhuematology, and med oncology. I want to work in pediatric oncology, so I think its great!

Specializes in SNF-LTC; Gero-psych.

I liked that mine were

1. preventive med

2. gastroenterology

3. emergency med

Specializes in start in NICU 7/14/08.

My top 4 were:

48: plastic surgery

47: neurology

47: neurosurgery

47: allergy & immunology

I can't imagine plastics, lol - my interests are nicu, peds onc or neuro icu. Of course, I start nursing school this fall so who knows how my areas of interest will change when I actually do clinicals. :)

Specializes in Geriatrics.

1. Peds......YUCK!!! I didn't enjoy peds in school!! (although I love my kids).

2. Med Oncology....NO desire for that either.

3. Family practice....Don't think so.

That was neat though, I was surprised by my results! Thanks for sharing!!

Specializes in L&D, Antepartum.

I'm surprised by my results:

1 rheumatology 44

2 pulmonology 44

3 nephrology 42

4 hematology 42

5 otolaryngology 42

6 thoracic surgery 41

7 preventive med 41

8 occupational med 41

9 radiation oncology 41

10 anesthesiology 40

I had originally wanted to go into OB/Gyn but that was way down on the list. When I started nursing school in Jan I decided that I would have an open mind about what I wanted to do. I guess this is a good place to start then?!?! So would nephrology be dialysis? My instructor would love that, she LOVES the dialysis unit, works there in the summers.

Specializes in Home Health Care.

1 plastic surgery

2 gastroenterology

3 anesthesiology

4. pediatrics

That would be so cool for me to be working as a nurse in plastic surgery... maybe I could get a discount!

1 physical med and rehabilitation

2 pathology

3 allergy and immunology

4 dermatology

Well, since I still have no idea where I want to specialize, this gives me some ideas...but, Pathology? Anyone know what a nurse's role is in pathology?

Who knows? It could happen.

You'll laugh but I have connections :lol2: ....my son will attend the Challenger Space Camp here this summer. One of the astronauts is a math teacher at my college ;) Real nice "down to EARTH" guy! A couple of weeks ago we went to our local museum and they had a Space Conference, several astronauts gave speeches and demonstrations...one was older when he was excepted into the program and never thought it would ever happen...well, after applying 4 times he was finally accepted. He said that anything can happen in America.....that's what makes this country so great! I walked away with lots of hope that I will be accepted into nursing school, too. Age shouldn't stop us from doing what we really want to do in life!!!!! If we keep working out and stay healthy we can do anything, too.!!!!!

Specializes in Pediatric/Adolescent, Med-Surg.

Here's mine:

1 med oncology 42

2 infectious disease 40

3 hematology 40

4 physical med & rehabilitation 40

5 aerospace med 39

6 gastroenterology 39

7 nuclear med 39

8 rheumatology 38

9 nephrology 38

10 psychiatry 38

11 obstetrics/gynecology

OB/GYN type care is what interests me, so I'm surprised to see it so far down. The only other thing on that list, so far, that interests me is psychiatry.
