Personality Disorder Test...how do you stack up?

Found this interesting test where it lays it out nicely. How high of a risk (low, moderate, high) are you in matching with current personality disorders? Gives a break down for you after you take the test, as well as providing a description of each disorder if you need to read more.

Questions TO ASK YOURSELF after seeing your profile:

1. If you are a nurse, how has this impacted your career and relationships?

2. As a nurse/student nurse interested in going into psychiatric nursing, can you perceive some difficulties for yourself depending on your profile risk? Is psychiatric nursing STILL a good option for you? Would you cause more harm than good?

3. After reading your profile, do your career and relationship difficulties seem to make a little more sense now?

I scored:

high in 6

moderate in 3

very high in one:uhoh3:

Low in all. But I don't like psych.

Low in all except schizoid . . .all because I like to be alone. I love to go to the bookstore by myself and get a new book and take myself to lunch and read. I love to jog by myself. I've never liked study groups. I do not secretly wish to be popular. . . what is so bad about that? It says "Avoidants will feel anxiety in social situations and have the desire to fit in, while schizoids simply prefer to be alone". Again, why is it bad to NOT feel anxiety in social situations? Or NOT have the desire to fit in?

Weird.

I agree with you 100%. I too prefer my own company. But I guess somebody's decided it's some kind of personality disorder. Go figure.

According to this I need to check into a hospital stat. I scored very high in OCD, avoidant and one other which I don't want to name.

This is frightening.

i scored very high in 3, this test is suprisingly accurate, since i have a diagnosis of these 3 PD's.

I am moderate on three of the things. The bad thing is that as a psych nurse, I knew what was the "right" answer and what was the "wrong" answer so I had to really try and be honest with myself.

I'm with ya, Steph. I like very much my ME time. Maybe bc most of my life was spent as an only child??? Interesting quiz.

Scored moderate on 1 which wasn't too much of a surprise and low on the rest....Hmmmm.....

Isn't that the truth! It took great reflection to give my answer and not what I know may lead to a certain dx. Yes, nurses are difficult patients. Scored VH on 1, the rest mod or low. No suprises.

I am not a psych nurse but I have heard repeatedly that nurses in this field tend to have more mental health issues. Again I do not work in psych nursing so I do not have an opinion on this, would you agree or disagree with this statement??

I scored low in all areas, as I expected, having been a psych nurse for 29 years and counting!

I think the test is highly inaccurate. Many of the questions are not able to be answered just "yes" or "no" - they require explanation, enlargement.
