Person Vue Trick-It was wrong for me. June 2016

Published

Hi everyone. I wanted to make a post because I just passed my NCLEX and have a license number on my state BON. I took my test Monday June 13 at 2 pm. I was done by 3:45 and the screen shut off at 75 questions. I felt horrible about the rest and cried all the way home.

I tried to Person Vue trick about 2 hours after my test and it said my reaults were on hold. Now I know that you need to wait after 24 hours for them to be more accurate. So I did it at 24 hours and a few more times after and I did it at 40 hours and I got the bad pop up. I put in an active debit card number and a wrong expiration day and clicked submit and it tried to take my payment. The next screen said please enter a valid expiration date. I was devastated!! I just knew I failed. I was preparing myself to call my new job to let them know I didn't pass and was trying to find the words to tell my family and friends. I had done well in nursing school and I had a 99% chance of passing it on the first time according to my ATI score. I had done the Hurst review and did fairly well on their Q-tests too.

I composed myself to call Pearson and ask why my results were on hold and why it was letting me register for a new exam and why it changed from saying its on hold to trying to take $200. I know everyone says if you get the bad pop up where it makes you pay, then your failed. So I asked him about it and he says their new update to their system will allow anyone to register REGARDLESS if you passed or not until the quick results are ready, or your BON receives the results.

If I would have been a little more patient, and just waited a few more hours I would have saved myself a ton of heartbreak and tears. Because he told me my hold was temporary and my quick results would be available on today, Thursday June 16 after 12. But low and behold a few hours later Wednesday evening around 7:45 I happen to check the Pearson website and my quick results were ready, I PASSED!!! Now remember they let me go all the way through setting up a new registration and even tried to take my money (and my bank flagged my debit card) and I passed. This morning at 8am when my BON had posted my license number and I am officially a RN.

I know many on here claim it worked for them and they passed. But the Pearson website updated their systems this past weekend. Maybe they got smart about the glitch. It will take your money even if you passed and it's not refundable. He made that very clear to me. So please don't do what I did and put yourself through needless hurt. It didn't work and I passed. There is still hope. Wait for quick their quick results and pay the $8 or wait to contact your BON. Glory to God that I made it through nursing school and I passed the NCLEX I could have sworn I failed!!

Again...people seem to be getting the bad popup when using an incorrect expiration. So, saying that the PVT was "wrong" in this case is incorrect. You didn't do it right.

Congrats either way.

Hmmm I'm not sure. I used my credit card AT FIRST with the wrong expiration. Then I put in the correct credit card information. Still got the bad pop up. Funny, I contacted my bank (because I'm that desperate) and they told me that my card has been attempted 7 times to be used (thats how many times I tried hahaha) but has not once been charged....??????

The lady on the phone said the BANK has rejected the transaction due to expired date. Either way the website should provide the good pop up without getting to this point. So my guess is I failed, and you actually CAN use an expired card.

This is a public service announcement to all recent NCLEX test-takers -

Do NOT use the Pearson Vue Trick, it is inaccurate and can take your money even if you pass. A recent graduate (a classmate) who passed in 75 questions tried the PVT, which promoted her to re-register for the NCLEX (known as the "bad pop up") and took her money. She thought she had failed!!!! She found out later that week that she had passed in 75 questions.

Please be patient and do not risk losing your money ($200), and please, PLEASE do not post here asking "Is the PVT accurate, did I pass?? HELLLPPPP MEEE!!!"

Thank you.

Thank you. Maybe your correct about using the correct information to try it. To me in my opinion, it's just not worth risking $200. Especially if you state has quick results.

Don't give up yet! Wait until you get your actual results. Does your state have quick results? Have you tried to contact your state's BON? Prayers for you!!

Glory to God my dear. Be relaxed now and welcome to the RN world. I pray for the best for you.

If you put in the wrong expiration date (or any other bit of information that is incorrect) you WILL get the text asking you to enter the correct information. You HAVE to put in the right info for the trick to work.

I was not even tempted to do the "trick". I was desperate to know as well last weekend but there was no way I was going to risk $200. Especially when it doesn't give you any relief because it doesn't always work.

I don't know why people do it.

Yes! All the glory to HIM!! Thank you so much!

I really appreciate the encouragement Brit :). But I've kind of already accepted the fact. I live in Ontario, Canada and we do not have the quick results. Its the only reason I tried the PVT trick once I figured out the quick results were not available for our province, so I DID wait 48 hours with all that anxiety.

As for Cocoa's post, I really appreciate (even though we all come off as very desperate and repetitive) posting that little update but the trick is pretty accurate when you do it right. IF I'm wrong I obviously will agree with you and take my clothes off and gyrate. Only time will tell. Actually, I'm going to go check my mail box right now.

Good luck everyone :)

Just an update. After a week of agonizing wait, I got my result and I Failed. I am feeling devastated and disbelief but life must go on. Have a great day everyone.

Why do people do this to themselves? Take the exam, go home, and wait for results. It's not official until you see the BON's results.
