Person Vue Trick-It was wrong for me. June 2016

Published

Hi everyone. I wanted to make a post because I just passed my NCLEX and have a license number on my state BON. I took my test Monday June 13 at 2 pm. I was done by 3:45 and the screen shut off at 75 questions. I felt horrible about the rest and cried all the way home.

I tried to Person Vue trick about 2 hours after my test and it said my reaults were on hold. Now I know that you need to wait after 24 hours for them to be more accurate. So I did it at 24 hours and a few more times after and I did it at 40 hours and I got the bad pop up. I put in an active debit card number and a wrong expiration day and clicked submit and it tried to take my payment. The next screen said please enter a valid expiration date. I was devastated!! I just knew I failed. I was preparing myself to call my new job to let them know I didn't pass and was trying to find the words to tell my family and friends. I had done well in nursing school and I had a 99% chance of passing it on the first time according to my ATI score. I had done the Hurst review and did fairly well on their Q-tests too.

I composed myself to call Pearson and ask why my results were on hold and why it was letting me register for a new exam and why it changed from saying its on hold to trying to take $200. I know everyone says if you get the bad pop up where it makes you pay, then your failed. So I asked him about it and he says their new update to their system will allow anyone to register REGARDLESS if you passed or not until the quick results are ready, or your BON receives the results.

If I would have been a little more patient, and just waited a few more hours I would have saved myself a ton of heartbreak and tears. Because he told me my hold was temporary and my quick results would be available on today, Thursday June 16 after 12. But low and behold a few hours later Wednesday evening around 7:45 I happen to check the Pearson website and my quick results were ready, I PASSED!!! Now remember they let me go all the way through setting up a new registration and even tried to take my money (and my bank flagged my debit card) and I passed. This morning at 8am when my BON had posted my license number and I am officially a RN.

I know many on here claim it worked for them and they passed. But the Pearson website updated their systems this past weekend. Maybe they got smart about the glitch. It will take your money even if you passed and it's not refundable. He made that very clear to me. So please don't do what I did and put yourself through needless hurt. It didn't work and I passed. There is still hope. Wait for quick their quick results and pay the $8 or wait to contact your BON. Glory to God that I made it through nursing school and I passed the NCLEX I could have sworn I failed!!

hi there.. just want to find out if PVT still works... is that true it will always asks the payment regardless if pass or fail? i will appreciate any comment... :-)

Since August 2014 everyone goes to the payment screen and you must risk a $200 registration fee to attempt the trick. It's less accurate in the first 24 hours

It's not a services not delivered. It's a non-refundable registration fee not a test fee. Since you registered services were rendered. The few that reported they tempted the PVT by offering their funds multiple times due to impatience and paid but ultimately passed reported that they lost the charge back because they twice agreed that they understood that the registration fee was non-refundable AND that it was a fee to register for the exam not a fee to sit the exam. Plus when you attempt the PVT you are attempting to create a duplicate registration which violates the terms of service agreement which renders you also ineligible for a refund.

While the PVT works for many it's not a guarantee as its a registration glitch

Really?

of the dozens of posts I've seen here claiming the trick didn't work, every one involved user error, and not one of the stories I've seen here was first person, much less stating that a chargeback didn't work.

i can't see Pearson even disputing charge backs - the "glitch" is when a registration goes through, not when it doesn't. And the arbiter of a chargeback is a credit card issuer, not Pearson.

I can count on one hand of those who were charged and passes. Each one attempted shortly after testing and were too impatient to wait for the QC process to complete. The users created a duplicate registration and agreed to the non-refundable of the registration fee It's not common.

Those that get a card validity check/card test where the attempt is rejected by the card company are not charged. The card validity check is similar to what gas stations or hotels to to ensure a card is valid before proceeding. The candidate assumes the invalid card check means they failed when all it meant is that they entered invalid card info.

the pearson vue trick does actually work. you have to wait until a few hours after your exam. if you are getting a pop up that says "this candidate currently has an open registration", it means that it has been too soon for pearsonvue to know that you are done with your nclex. this is NOT the good pop up. the good pop up will say "our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam…" i have NEVER heard of this being inaccurate from first hand and no, i don't want to hear that your sister's friend's cousin's aunt had something happen to them blah blah. your card that you use must be valid but does not need 200 dollars on it, but if you even get a card declined message that means you did not pass because if you did pass, PV doesn't try to take money from you.

Hi Darwin,

I'm an IL resident and have dealt with Continental for my NCLEX as well as my EMT-P exams, and I can tell you they move at the speed of a glacier. They will not update you, nor will they be able to tell you if they have received any of your materials until they have posted them to your account. (as in, they are visible to you when you log in) As with every other aspect of the NCLEX production, you will be given no specific dates, just vague "10-15 business day" time frames. For everything. So yes, in the meantime go ahead and set up your account/login/register and pay your fee for Pearson so you are ready to go when CTS tells you it will be another 2 weeks for your ATT and then it appears in your inbox the next day :bored:

***On the bright side, CTS posts results on their site before Pearson- no need to wait for "quick results"- CTS had updated my account to "Pass" while results were still unavailable from P.Vue***
