Person Vue Trick-It was wrong for me. June 2016

Published

Hi everyone. I wanted to make a post because I just passed my NCLEX and have a license number on my state BON. I took my test Monday June 13 at 2 pm. I was done by 3:45 and the screen shut off at 75 questions. I felt horrible about the rest and cried all the way home.

I tried to Person Vue trick about 2 hours after my test and it said my reaults were on hold. Now I know that you need to wait after 24 hours for them to be more accurate. So I did it at 24 hours and a few more times after and I did it at 40 hours and I got the bad pop up. I put in an active debit card number and a wrong expiration day and clicked submit and it tried to take my payment. The next screen said please enter a valid expiration date. I was devastated!! I just knew I failed. I was preparing myself to call my new job to let them know I didn't pass and was trying to find the words to tell my family and friends. I had done well in nursing school and I had a 99% chance of passing it on the first time according to my ATI score. I had done the Hurst review and did fairly well on their Q-tests too.

I composed myself to call Pearson and ask why my results were on hold and why it was letting me register for a new exam and why it changed from saying its on hold to trying to take $200. I know everyone says if you get the bad pop up where it makes you pay, then your failed. So I asked him about it and he says their new update to their system will allow anyone to register REGARDLESS if you passed or not until the quick results are ready, or your BON receives the results.

If I would have been a little more patient, and just waited a few more hours I would have saved myself a ton of heartbreak and tears. Because he told me my hold was temporary and my quick results would be available on today, Thursday June 16 after 12. But low and behold a few hours later Wednesday evening around 7:45 I happen to check the Pearson website and my quick results were ready, I PASSED!!! Now remember they let me go all the way through setting up a new registration and even tried to take my money (and my bank flagged my debit card) and I passed. This morning at 8am when my BON had posted my license number and I am officially a RN.

I know many on here claim it worked for them and they passed. But the Pearson website updated their systems this past weekend. Maybe they got smart about the glitch. It will take your money even if you passed and it's not refundable. He made that very clear to me. So please don't do what I did and put yourself through needless hurt. It didn't work and I passed. There is still hope. Wait for quick their quick results and pay the $8 or wait to contact your BON. Glory to God that I made it through nursing school and I passed the NCLEX I could have sworn I failed!!

My school told me not to try the trick because of that risks.

I did the PVT when I took my NCLEX about 2 weeks ago. Tried it about 4-5 hours after my test ended, entered correct card number but incorrect expiration and 3 digit code. It worked for me but it is so interesting to see how that differs for everyone. The 48 hour wait was definitely rough!

I tested the same day, did the PVT the following day at 0700. I used the wrong expiration and got the idea recently scheduled message. Tried again at 24 hr mark and still the same message. I guess it worked for me because I did pass. *shrug* and I never got charged or got the invalid credit card message.

Hi Britt,

I keep reading your post in hopes that your story is true for me as well :( took nclex yesterday afternoon and tried the "trick" it took my payment of the 200$. It was only 4 hrs after I took the exam because everyone said it was accurate. Im praying so hard that we have the same story to share :)

Congrats by the way

what does it mean when I did the trick (wrong exp date on my cc) and it says my results are on hold? trying to remain calm.

The PVT does still work as of June 22, 2016 but this is how it works:

You need to sign in and start re-registering for the exam. Enter your info, search for your school, select your BON, etc. and then click submit where it will then take you to the payment screen. EVERYONE will get this payment screen... The "good" or "bad" message isn't going to show up here. You must enter your correct credit card info, don't change the 3-digit code or expiration date... it must be valid.

Now, when you hit submit, if you get the message with an exclamation point in a little triangle that says "you've recently scheduled this exam and another exam cannot be scheduled at this time" or something like that, you've passed. If you failed, it WILL take your $200 and allow you to continue. You'd have to pay the $200 no matter what if you fail so its not a big deal for most people. The old method involved changing the expiration date of the card or the security code... That doesn't work anymore. You must enter the correct card info.

If you passed, it should NOT charge you so whoever is saying that PV told them that everyone will be charged regardless of whether or not you failed, that is wrong. PV is not going to accept payment for something you are ineligible to retake because you passed, it's that simple.

i tried the PVT with the wrong year of expiration. I got the "your results are on hold" message. I called Pearson Vue and they assured me there was no problem, I just had to wait the 48 hours. Well, I finished my test,75 questions in about 55 minutes. At 48 hours after when I finished, my results were not posted. I called Pearson Vue again. I was told the results are posted 48 hours after the six hour mark of when the test could have finished, not when I finished. Fine. Around hour 50, I checked again, and PASSED. Wow, that felt so great. I thought the Kaplan lectures were great, and I used the Kaplan and UWorld questions. The UWorld questions were better because the explanations were excellent, with great diagrams. The diagrams and explanations were very important to me, because I attended Excelsior college, so did not see those things in person, chest tubes, etc. Hope everyone else here has a good result!

I still have yet to see a first-person "i passed and still got charged" post.

I don't know if i passed or not, but it wouldn't take my money! Valid cc & expire date..

2 hrs after exam & 12hrs after exam..

Even if they did take your money & pass, you could dispute the charge.. no way they let you take the nclex again after passing, so "services not delivered"..

Hi everyone! I am Darwin Ang a registered nurse from Ph. I applied to take the RN NCLEX in Illinois. I already had my CES sent by CGFNS to Continental Testing Services(CTS). I had also my application papers (requirements), with my fingerprint receipt sent to CTS. Can I ask will the CTS update me thru email? I haven't heard from them about any updates regarding my application. And should I register to Pearson Vue now, since I finished sending my papers to CTS? Please if you have any idea about my situation, I would be very glad to have your help. Congratulations to all who passed the NCLEX. 😊

hi there.. just want to find out if PVT still works... is that true it will always asks the payment regardless if pass or fail? i will appreciate any comment... :-)

so i really need to put all the correct exp. date and 3 digit code... so do you mean if i put the wrong exp date and code i will get the wrong information just in case i pass or fail

It's not a services not delivered. It's a non-refundable registration fee not a test fee. Since you registered services were rendered. The few that reported they tempted the PVT by offering their funds multiple times due to impatience and paid but ultimately passed reported that they lost the charge back because they twice agreed that they understood that the registration fee was non-refundable AND that it was a fee to register for the exam not a fee to sit the exam. Plus when you attempt the PVT you are attempting to create a duplicate registration which violates the terms of service agreement which renders you also ineligible for a refund.

While the PVT works for many it's not a guarantee as its a registration glitch
