  1. Sent my email! Thank you :) :)
  2. I sent you a PM. thank you!!
  3. How am I just seeing this?!? Thank you so much for the reply, do you mind if I email you some questions I have? I had to delay my acceptance until spring 2019 because of the military but would love to chat! Feel free to PM me your email if you don't mind. Thanks!
  4. hi! have y'all heard anything back yet? i applied for PNP-AC and interviewed and they told me our orientation would be August 7-8 (seems really soon!) good luck to all who interviewed for their respective specialties! :)
  5. Honestly it was more or less them going through your resume and asking questions about your experiences. She was very nice and it was very relaxed. I was on the phone about 20 minutes with her. I did find out from her that the mandatory orientation is August 7-8 which is really soon. She said admit decisions will be posted later this week or early next week.
  6. Did anyone else interview today with Dr. Martinez?
  7. I did! I would love to chat kittyobsessednurse :)
  8. They're all separate lists!
  9. It definitely has nothing to do with your letters of rec or lack of qualifications. Certain specialties are just not in demand, 66p being one of them. I was put on the oml as a 66h (also in low demand) and had letters of rec from a current army major and retired brigadier general. Hang in there! Marine7 and I didn't find out we were off the oml until august of the year we were boarded so we just hung out there for about 10 months
  10. 99% of people know where they would be doing drill if selected. That's not really indicative of your chances of being selected. It takes about 6-8 weeks after knowing you're selected to commission and then after that it'll be 3-4 months until you have orders and actually start drilling. The army is definitely not a fast paced organization when it comes to getting paperwork done.
  11. Hi everyone! I was just accepted for Summer 2018 but am deferring to Fall 2018 for personal reasons. I just have a few basic questions about the program, in particular, the Pediatric Primary and Acute Care (Dual) NP specialty. How many times are you required to go to Omaha during the duration of the program? I'm from Illinois but currently live in Tennessee so I will most likely have to fly (Nashville-Omaha) or drive (about 5 hours from my parents house) when I have to go to Creighton. I currently work a 0.75FTE on night shift, has anyone else worked around that and been able to stay sane during school? :) My plan is to take 6-9 credit hours a semester. For those of you that have already enrolled and started the DNP program, how do you feel that the program is set up? Do you find the instructors to be approachable and available? How are the online classes? Thank you for any input you have!
  12. Hi! I was just wondering if there was anyone on here who either was accepted/currently enrolled/graduated from Creighton in their DNP Nurse Practitioner program? I was just accepted for Summer 2018 but am deferring to Fall 2018. I just have a few basic questions about the program, in particular, the Pediatric Primary and Acute Care NP specialty. Thanks for any insight that anyone can give me! :)
  13. Yeah I've known my unit for a long time. Your orders have to go all the way up to HRC and then come all the way back down. So 4 weeks is a minimum from what I've heard. Nothing moves quickly with the army!
  14. marine7 is correct. my ceremony was short and sweet as well, except my husband commissioned me instead of a recruiting officer. as for uniforms, a set of OCPS (camo) costs around 100, the boots I bought were also around 100 (I bought some that were slightly more expensive because I found them to be the most comfortable, and ASUs (dress uniform) are anywhere between 500-1000 depending on the quality that you want to buy. I know we personally paid 800 when my now husband graduated west point and commissioned but the ones he bought were a lot better quality than what I have seen at the PX here at fort campbell. I don't plan on buying that uniform until closer to when I head to bolc because of the cost. I commissioned going on 4 weeks ago and still have yet to receive orders, once you get your orders you can make an appointment with the ID card office and get your CAC. I was told it would be anywhere from 2-3 months from commissioning until you have your report date for your first drill weekend. It is up to your recruiters to take you to your unit and help you inprocess since unlike active duty, you report to your unit before having any formal type of army training. Once you report to your unit, you will get assigned a date to go to San Antonio, Texas for BOLC. You have up to two years from your commissioning date to actually attend bolc, but it is mostly up to you to keep on your unit and try to get a slot for BOLC. you are not deployable until after you have completed bolc. hope this helps!!
  15. From personal experience, you don't get updates on your packet the way you are expecting to. If it's submitted and done correctly, it will go to the board. Medical recruiters are very experienced with the process and can offer insight. However, since you didn't use one we can't really be of any help. The army currently has a surplus of nurses and applicants so they can pick and choose who and what they want with little to no explanation.
