Yes, the FB group is for all of us, admitted or still pre-nursing. There are a lot of restrictions here so on our group we can share things a little easier. I wasn't banned from that FB page, but only because I left before they banned me, it was clear they only wanted their class in that group.

Personally I would stay away from the bookstore. Amazon is usually cheaper and that's where I ordered my books.

Hi, I've been reading the Penn Valley nursing posts for awhile to get all the info I can before applying. I have 3 kids and was wondering how its going for you with 4?! I hear so much that its so hard with kids and mine are 1-7 so still pretty little. Also wondering how you and your husband deal with house work while you have school/studying? Thanks!

A few questions, that you all may not be able to answer until those packets come...
I am applying in August- Pretty sure I will get in as my GPA is 3.8 and I am currently rocking A&PII (Physiology) & Micro.
Any specific stethoscope requirements? My hubby bought me the new Littman Classic III in aqua blue-LOVE IT! Just want to be sure it will work OK.
What about shoes? The nursing hand book says white or black "nurse" shoes. But when I was on campus for a tour of the HSI last Friday there was a ADN student wearing red & gray tennis shoes. I am very picky about my shoes and have large feet, so I typically order online. I would prefer to do this in advance so I know I have shoes that will be comfy.
What other supplies/equipment do you need? I do not want to wait until October/November to be taking care of this.
Thanks in advance-I am a super busy mom of 4 boys, so planning in advance is a must.

I start the actual program on Monday. So we will see how it goes for us then. My kids are all teens and one is away at college. They are all very independent. We came up with daily chores that they have each day to help around the house. Additionally, they each pick one meal to cook each week.

Sounds like your situation will be much different than mine. I am not sure that I could have gone back to school when they were all younger.

When will do you plan to apply?
