  1. I'm not sure why I don't understand why either they just want all your test up to date.
  2. It depends on what you test into. I tested into Math 20 so I had to complete Math 20, math 40, and college Algebra. I think you need to have College Algebra
  3. Hey Amber if your compass test is 3 years or older you have to retake it even if you have already completed the requirements.
  4. My dosage calculation test grade was just posted I got an 84%! I wish it would have been an A but I'm happy with the grade I received. For those of you are worried about dosage calculations please don't! It's not impossible I have very poor math skills. I was worried sick about being able to get through it. While taking my pre-reqs I had to complete math 20 which is the lowest foundation of math and work my way up to college algebra. I'm doing well with dosage calculations so don't worry.
  5. Hi everyone! Just wanted to give another update. I am in the second week of my program and so far there is a ton of reading of course but the information isn't hard to grasp. I was so freaked out about dosage calculations being self taught but it was just like augurey and several others have mentioned it's not as hard as it may seem it is certainly easier than college algebra or intermediate algebra for that matter. The thing that makes the program overwhelming for me are the clinical, virtual hospital, and skills check off schedules. There are so many skills we have to learn in such a short amount of time on top of having 2 tests a week. I'm keeping stress at bay by just taking it one day at a time I record the lectures and listen to them while I take notes on my powerpoints and read key points in the book. Hopefully this method works I'll know after taking my test on Tuesday. I had my first dosage calculation test on Monday I think I did okay. Good luck to everyone starting this month!
  6. Hi everyone Just wanted to let everyone know how orientation went. I wore slacks and comfortable shoes to orientation most of the students wore either jeans or shorts it was very casual. We mainly went over sim lab and clinical times for the upcoming semester and we also ordered our uniforms. Honestly ordering uniforms took up a huge chunk or our time there were only a few sample sizes for several of us to try on it was very unorganized and unexpected. We won't receive our syllabus until Monday morning, we have our first lecture on Monday afternoon. We also learned that both medical terminology and dosage calculations are self taught which really worries me because math is definitely not my strong suit I really struggle with math. I am going to the learning center to get help with dosage calculations first thing Monday morning. I don't want to wait until it's too late for me to fix it. All in all I'm feeling slightly better after having orientation but I'm still feeling a little uneasy.
  7. I hope you get everything straightened out soon augurey! I'm starting to get cold feet too. I'm so happy I'm not the only person feeling this way. I have orientation tomorrow from 8:00-4:30pm and I'm excited but super nervous. I've been having issues with financial aid and a few other hiccups I need to take care of tomorrow, between the issues and all the horror stories I read online I'm not sure what to think. I will let everyone know how my orientation went since several people have been kind enough to share their experience. Good luck to everyone that starts this month! We can do it! Lol
  8. Lilacs created a group for us Chickie can you pm your email address so I can add you?
  9. Thank you Lilacs! the page looks great my only suggestion is to make it a secret group
  10. Lilacs I've been debating whether or not to use a rolling backpack (I hate them! lol) but I think I may need to. I was looking at the JanSport driver 8 it's a little expensive so I'm currently searching for something comparable. I would love to hear if anyone else is considering a rolling backpack. By the way I was trying to create the facebook group and it wouldn't let me can someone else create it for us?
  11. Hey Everyone I would like to create a facebook group for us so we'll have a place to ask questions and get help if needed. Would anyone be interested in joining?
  12. I have! I'm reading the first few chapters from my fundamentals books to start off with and going over pharmacology a little everyday.
  13. Congrats on your gandbaby! that's exciting! you have a lot to be thankful for and it sounds like you're doing great in your courses. I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that it's manageable.
  14. How did you do on your quizzes? How difficult were they? If you don't mind me asking.
  15. I did too Purple_roses! I saved around $300 as well. If I were to purchase all the books that we need through the bookstore I would have paid close to $1000 that's outrageous! Thank goodness for Amazon. I just need to purchase my scrubs but I can't purchase those until orientation.
