Penn State Residency: Hershey Medical Center 2015

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hey Everyone,

I don't see a thread for 2015 yet, so I thought I'd start one. I'm just beginning the application process, and the clinical narrative is killing me. I precepted in trauma at a trauma center, so it was get them in, get them out: usually to a rehab. I can't think of how I might have changed their lives or had a big impact. I was able to attain great skills and do frequent assessments: neuro, neurovascular, cardio, telemetry strips, etc. and do and see some great stuff, I wish I could write about that!

I'd like to hear from anyone applying now or who applied in the past. Any pointers?

Anyone can guess how many applicant applied for this program?

Thanks for the update cramos111. Am anxiously waiting to receive an email as well...

Don't know, but I know the med center gets about 30,000 applications a year for 1200 jobs so you can kind of give it a guess

Congrats!! Hope you all have the best of luck for career search at Penn State Hershey. ;)

Interview invitations will be emailed sometime in mid October for November interviews. If you have not heard anything by late October, then you can assume that you have not been chosen for the initial phase of interviews.

I'm nervous about the med math exam, too. I have an interview for NICU, but I might cancel because traveling is so expensive and I have text anxiety.

Scorpio_RN_BSN Congrats!!! - I hope you get to go for the interview...If you made it through all that nursing school then you could make...Stay positive and I wish you the best!!

I called a recruiter today to check on the status of my application and was told that friday they will be emailing us a decision.

Don't mind but do we really need to prep for med math exam? I mean we all need to know already how to calculate IV drip , etc ..

Guess not...

I'm definitely studying for the med calc exam. Not taking any chances with my dream job! Just gonna crack open the ol' med calc book and refresh. Anyone else interviewing on the 5th?
