Pediatric NCLEX questions

I just have a question for everyone has taken the NCLEX... did you happen to have many pediatric questions? I know that there is a possibility of getting pretty much any type of question concerning any type of nursing. I am just curious how heavy the NCLEX covers pediatric information.

I'm on pediatrics now(Saunders) and I was wondering the same thing! I actually did really well in that part in school anyway. I was thinking of skipping the reading and just seeing how I do on the questions.

i only remember getting 1 peds question and it was a calculation question.

Yes I got one and it was so random I laughed :banghead:because of all the important pedi stuff they could ask. No ob I was happy about that.Hey study all of it I know it sounds impossible but study all you got Saunders 4ed prepared me very well

I had one question that in a sense pertained to peds...but the question was a calculation question.

I don't recall any OB/GYN or peds on my test.

Odds are that if you only get one, it'll be a calculation question. That's a huge part of peds nursing. All meds are dosed according to weight so knowing how to do the math is crucial.

i got 1 peds question, it was a priority type question.

I had roughly 5 pediatric questions on the NCLEX. I passed with 75 Q and I'm relatively certain I got most of those right? It just depends on how you answer the first ones they throw at you and how many more they'll give you.

i got only one too, i think it was which nurse would i assign, they were either coming from or going to the peds unit. so it was more of a priority type. can't remember exactly what though. no newborn stuff or ob questions either. infection control, meds, and priority. a couple of addisons, diabetes and thyroid, 2nd semester stuff if u took the 2 year ADN. no dosgae questions for me, weird. :bluecry1:

I got I think 2 questions and 1 ped calculation. I'm not sure about how they ask peds questions, but as I read in this forum, I haven't seen any who got lots of ped questions.
