Here are the exact steps to see if you passed the NCLEX exam on the Pearson Vue web site.
Updated:
Very important: At this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc.
This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'Records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact BON. An appointment cannot be scheduled at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your Pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick.
Poll to take once you have received your response:

To know if the PVT works, are there any people who didn't pass, who are willing to say if the trick didn't work for them (the website allowed you to put in your credit card to re-register, right after you took the NCLEX)? I see people saying the trick worked because they got the popup, then turned out to have passed, but to feel comfortable that it works, I'd like to know if those who didn't pass also didn't get the popup.
I tested today. Yuck is how I felt about it... soooo many SATAs, had to be more than half! I'd heard NCLEX is easier than ATI/Kaplan questions, but I found it much harder. It's a crapshoot what you get asked.

I felt the NCLEX was harder...LOTS of SATAs...I would get SATAs every third question...my last question was a SATA...I felt yuck about it as well..but I did pass. I did the Pearson Vue trick with the "contact your board" pop up, after one of my classmates told me to...I was willing to ride it out. Once I got that, I kept checking...OA takes about 2 days to show up. Still not sure about the "pop up"...
How long does it take for the registration to show on the California BON website? I've gone back scores of posts and only found one reference to California back in October - and that was the same question! My wife is sitting it later today, is skeptical of the trick (though I've shown her this thread), and would probably only believe it if her name appears on the BON. She's taking the RN exam.
However, she did look her name up before and it wasn't there at all - should it have shown as "temporary" or "uncertified" or something? I've just tried "Temporary Registered Nurse License - Interim Permit Verification" and her name doesn't come up, whether searching just by first, last, or both first and last. I also tried "Permanent License Verification" but presumably that's the list of people who have passed, or otherwise have a full license. I also tried searching for a cousin who has passed and he's there.
Another question: is the application # on letters from the BON the same as the interim permit number? I searched for that too with no luck. Her number is 90xxxx which is a little earlier than most people on the IP list (mostly 97xxxx or higher but there are one or two with 90xxxx numbers).
So, I'm super stressed right now. My appointment was for 3 pm for the NCLEX PN and I finished by 5 pm with 85 questions. I was crying on the way home because, out of 85 questions at least 40-50 were select all that apply, I had one dosage and 1 drag and drop.
I checked about 2 hours after finishing my test and got the "previously scheduled popup message, but I'm still so worried because of the number of SATA questions.
I wish California made this easier.

Her name will only show up under Temporary/Intern permit if she paid the extra $50.00. Once she take boards it will be removed either because she passed and they issued her a permit number or if she fails her temp/IP will be deactivated.
Hope that helps.
