Here are the exact steps to see if you passed the NCLEX exam on the Pearson Vue web site.
Updated:
Very important: At this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc.
This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'Records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact BON. An appointment cannot be scheduled at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your Pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick.

Hello....I must not be alone in still feeling like I will be the "one" whom the pvt (good pop up) trick wont work for. I took the exam yesterday & could really use the reassurance right now :/
I felt that way too :) it was horrible with my anxiety but believe me it does work...and it's worth it in the end when u find out u really did pass!
vtavares:
from what I have read...and believe you me, I have read a lot over the past 2 weeks of waiting post-nclex (75q shut-off and pvt pop-up). The only time it appears that the pvt has not worked is when someone has gotten cc prompt, and then it turns out they have passed - I have read one instance of that. I have read no instance of anyone getting the PVT popup and then not passing. Furthermore, from what I understand, your exam is graded twice so to speak. Pearson grades it once (obviously this is done instantly upon exam completion). Then...the board must review your exam also for the second time. I assume somehow this is done electronically also, perhaps the few that do not pass or fail closely - are reviewed mechanically/old school by hand? ONce the board has reviewed the exam "for the second time", your results can then be released - hence the quick results or the prompt uploading of your name to the website...confirming officially that one has passed. My fear is the high incidence of passing first time is 86% for NCLEX, so it would be natural that MOST people pass and thus 9/10 people pass that get the PVT pop-up....and the 1/10 may not even be posting on here, so perhaps we never meet them - and could never confirm the accuracy of the PVT. However, that being said the few that do state they are prompted to the cc page do appear to be posting on here, and they may infact represent the 1/10 people that do not pass? In attempt to sound positive, all people state the PVT is 100% accurate. With that...be confident, believe that you did better than you thought. Remember you must only prove proficiency on the exam, competency. You are allowed to make many mistakes, so long as you prove competent. You most likely are competent...PVT is real, and 100% accurate....So you passed. Relax, wait and keep us posted! - Good luck- JJ
i posted this earlier on the wrong thread, i'm from ok :) not from nj., in fact they closed it after my post. hopefully, they won't close this one because i took my test on a tuesday, not sat., but i still want everyone to know that the trick did work.
i took my pn nclex and when the test shut off at 85, i knew i had failed. there was no doubt. it was about 12 hours later that i tried the trick and i got the old " good popup". i tried it again the next morning and still got the pop up. i thought since it was the old pop up it wasn't going to mean i passed. i was so nervous as i signed in and payed for the quick results and it says "i passed". the trick worked. i am sooooo happy. good luck to everyone checking their results. please keep everyone informed if the trick works for you.

As per the BRN website, I have seen it take up to 6 weeks and many are lucky if they see it in 3 days
9. How long does it take to receive my test results?
You should receive either your permanent RN license (see question 20), or notification that you did not pass the examination, within two (2) to four (4) weeks after taking the examination.
