Pearson Vue Trick was WRONG!!!!!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I was crying so much after doing the pearson vue trick. I followed every direction on how to obtain it. I made sure my status said DELIVERY IS SUCCESSFUL. It went through the credit card page. I tried it so many times. I made sure AGAIN that my status said delivery is successful. and AGAIN, it went to the credit card page. I thought I failed.

HOWEVER! I passed!!!!! I got the quick results and I passed.

My classmates who had the good pop-up always passed. All my classmates who passed had the computer shut off at 75 questions so once I hit 76 my heart started racing..once I hit 150, I thought ok I just need to prepare for 265.

Just to clarify, just because you get 75 doesn't mean you pass-you are either well below the line of passing or well below it for those 60 questions (15 are questions they are testing). Clearly most of my class was above the line as the ones that I know who took it, passed.

I know how CAT works, trust me I made sure I knew everything about it ;) Yes they changed the passing standard. They give sample questions during the test also for a reason. I am sure they do have to change the questions at some point to be up to date with today's nursing. Did you pass, and was it after April 2013? I don't feel the content in Kalpan was fine-I felt that it wasn't comprehensive enough and that the test was much harder than Kaplan including style of questions not included in my prep. If you did pass, what did you do to study?

Yes I did take the test after April 2013 (June 6th to be exact) and yes I did pass.

I found the NCLEX to almost mirror the Kaplan questions I had. I found them very much similar. And in my opinion, I found Kaplan to be just as hard if not harder than my NCLEX test.

I used Kaplan only. My school required a two week end of program test prep class with a Kaplan instructor and we had access to all the Kaplan test prep materials. My Kaplan program had every type of question style in the qbank/qtrainer tests (SATA, hot spot, drag & drop). It even had one test that was nothing but alternate styles of questions. I don't know if the Kaplan program can be purchased to have different things available.

You stated that according to Kaplan from your scores you should have passed. I have to disagree. In the Kaplan book it says for qtrainer tests 1-5 you should have a 65% or better and for 6 & 7 a 60% or better, your cumulative on the qbank questions (and all of them should be one) should be at least a 60% or better and your readiness should also be 60% or better. Looking at your scores you were very close to meeting that on #6 and met on #7 but the rest fall below the recommended scores. This is a guide they give. Its not written in stone that you will pass if you get the scores and its not that you will fail if you don't. I have a few classmates who met what Kaplan said and still failed and others who didn't meet the scores and passed.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Kaplan have a money back guarentee if you don't pass? Maybe you can look into that to maybe recoup some/all of your money.

Liking or disliking Kaplan is like arguing that Coke or Pepsi is better. Everyone has their own opinions and it does not mean that one or the other is wrong, it just means that they have a different opinion on something.

I wish you the best with your next attempt.

Thanks

People get confused about the pop up because there is more than one pop up. When you do the PVT one of three things can happen.

1) pop up saying "...contact your member board..." means you passed

2) pop up saying something about results still processing and nothing about contacting your member board does not mean you failed or passed. It means you need to check back later.

3) it allows you to enter credit card info and you might need to retake the exam. Check with the board because this can be a false negative.

Read your pop up carefully and don't just assume that it didn't ask for credit card info so you passed.

newgrad16, what are you using for your new study plan?

So Kaplan won't refund the amount since it was integrated into our program. After doing some research and asking around I broke down each section by percentage from Greatest to Least starting with Management of Care and ending with Basic Care and Comfort. I will be doing 1 section a week pretty much. Here are the resources I am using:

1. Kaplan: Review of Questions Videos, Q-banks, Readiness Test, Trainers 1-7 (for endurance)

2. Saunders 5 Edition Comprehensive Review to look things up I need better clarification on (it's very thorough and it beats looking up things in my Fundamentals and Med Surg Books-plus Saunders cites my textbooks)

3. Saunders Q and A Review (solidify basics and build confidence- I have caught some content errors so be careful. The question I caught was the order of removal of PPE)

4. Exam Cram (250 questions is a lot so I'm building by endurance and doing 150, 175, 225 each week and the remainder of questions I use another day)

5. PDA by La Charity

I will be taking notes on subjects I need to solidify and review them once a week

Each day I will do AT LEAST 50 questions from one source, but I usually do 100-150. My schedule is for 54 days of prep. I better pass this test and I hope this helps you!!

I agree, same thing just happened to me. I cried and cried after not seeing the so called good pop up , but checked my board of nursing website even before the quick result and saw my name as RN. People please do not out your hope on this trick, its not real. Just wait for your result or check your BON website for your name. People here got me all hypertensive cos of this ridiculous trick, and its a lie from peoples imagination.

It's actually extremely accurate if you passed. However, I've read that sometimes you'll get a "false fail" and I know that must be devastating. I graduated in May 2013 and four of my classmates failed the test, and they all were taken immediately to the credit card page. One of my friends had me check for her when she was driving home after taking the NCLEX. It took me to the CC page and sure enough, she had failed. It sucks. I tried to tell her that there was still a chance that she had passed, but she didn't. It was a miserable experience! When I took the NCLEX, I got the good pop up on my ride home and I passed. Good luck to you all!

Congratulations!!!!! I'm really happy for you! I hope it will be the same for me, as I just took nclex and when tried the peason vue trick it went to the cc page. :( I'm so devastated and not sure what to do now.

Feeling so down...

Anybody would like a study buddy? Send me a PM.

did nclex on the 3o july 2013, did the pearson vue trick said results not available in red and status delivery successful. however , went on to reregistered and got the pop up what does that mean.

It means the red saying 'results not available' means that your quick results aren't available yet, the pop up that says 'our records indicate.." is the good pop up and means pass. The fail would be being brought to the CC page.

Very far from a 'lie' from peoples imaginations, unless there are thousands of us over the years (who failed and passed) who are all in on this lie and decided to try to pull the wool over others eyes
