Hello everyone!
I took the NCLEX RN last Aug 23, 2014 at 8AM. It was my first take on the exam, and was understandably anxious (and scared) to start and get over with it. We arrived an hour and a half before the start time. I checked-in and was assisted by a fine, old gentleman. I got to start the exam earlier than scheduled (they allow it, as long as you are checked-in, you can immediately start). The tutorial sort of calmed my nerves but to my surprise I was trembling when I started reading the first question! It really helped a lot that you have control on your pacing, so I got comfortable as the exam went on. And so it was, my exam stopped after the 75th question. I finished the tutorial, exam and survey in two hours. OMG! Either I passed or failed miserably fast!
I have been reading about the pearson vue trick, how it works, etc. I planned to check on it an hour after the exam. I logged on to the pearson vue website and got the "good" pop-up. Oh my was I on cloud nine. Thank you Lord! Of course, I checked again after an hour or so, and still I got the good pop-up.
Now, it so happens that that day August 23, 2014, there was a scheduled website maintenance from 5:00-11:00PM CDT. True enough I couldn't access the site during those times. But the stubborn in me still couldn't resist checking the site after the said schedule. So I logged in again, but this time, pearson vue had a new "interface", the old one had the register option on the left. The new website had a "START THE REGISTRATION PROCESS" button right in the middle of the page.
I did try to register again, and do the pearson vue trick again. I answered the questions, etc...and then when I pressed the Next button, praying I would still get the "good" pop-up (to reaffirm my "unofficial" passing result), alas, it went straight to the credit card page!!! I felt shivers in my spine, OMG! "Does this mean I failed?", I thought. I was in denial. I thought, it probably was because they updated the website, after all, I still got the "good" pop-up before the scheduled maintenance. I guess I was just convincing myself at that point. I tried again and again and still went straight to the cc page, I was devastated. It didn't help that my result wasn't available that whole weekend. It was agonizing! Did I pass, did I fail? Waaaaaahhhhh!!
But then thank God for quick results, it was available this morning! I was ambivalent to check because I didn't know how would I react. But of course, I'm not the type who prolongs the agony. I went ahead and paid $7.95 and then the result was available on the next page... I PASSED!!! Praise the Lord!
After I finally got the "unofficial" passing result. I tried again to register for the exam...and still it lead to the cc page, even if I already passed!
Hence, based on my experience, the Pearson Vue trick cannot tell anymore whether you pass or fail after AUGUST 23, 2014. Even if you passed or failed, it will still let you start a registration process and lead you to the cc page. Thus, no more so-called "Pearson Vue Trick". I don't know if this is temporary or permanent, but what I know is that it changed when they had that website maintenance. Its sad that we can't rely anymore on this "trick" to reduce our anxiety and get a "quicker" "unofficial" result.
This just means that future takers of the NCLEX RN would have to rely on the "quick results" option (48 hours after the exam) or wait for their official results in the mail to know for sure what their result is.
Well, its been 24 hrs - well, 23 hrs, and I still got the pop up that doesn't accept my payment because I'm still in their system. Not sure if that means anything. If they truly have to reassess the test a 2nd time - although, I took it at 8 am yesterday AM, they would have had plenty of time to do that, and their computers would have updated at midnight as most do. . . fingers are crossed. Although I'm not entirely sure how they got a computer program that searches and checks to see if you passed or not before it charges you - I doubt that it does. I used a bad exp date, but I see that someone else here got charged anyway with that. As far as people slapping each other on the hand for risking $200 - hey - they're nervous -cut 'em some slack - this is an important deal here - they'll look back at it later and laugh about how nervous they were.. . we all take risks when you try to work around the system you know. I personally wish they gave you sealed results before you left the test center, but that's me. Of course there may be a few more accidents on the road if they did that - maybe its better this way. lol
Listen, you have to put in your credit card information and click submit (so they can process your payment). Instead of saying payment successful it will say this candidate recently took the test and cannot take the exam again. But u have to risk them charging your card. If u didn't pass then u have to pay the 200 anyway. Better sooner than later. I took the nclex pn last tuesday. Today I got the good pop up after I gave them a chance to charge my credit card. I live n cali and I can't do quick results so I have to wait 6 weeks boooooooo cali.
You have to risk them charging your card to see if you passed or not. Once you put in your cc info you have to hit submit and agree to them taking 20p dollars off your card. After yoy hit submit it will take you to the confirmation page with yoy r receipt for payment. This means you failed because the system took your money so you can retake the nclex. But if instead of the purchase confirmation page you get an error message with a RED TRIANGLE (very important fact). That means you passed. Here is a pic of what my PVT looks like, I passed. My official results have not arrive but I believe in the PVT. I took the NCLEX three times. Finally passing my third time. The first two times I did the PVT and the system charged mt credit card because I failed. But this time it didn't charge my card because I the system recognized me as successfully completing that exam.
Best of luck! I took the boards PN last Tuesday 13/1/15. I have to wait 6 weeks for my official results. Boooooooo California for not offering quick results.
Mila
Check out my pass results with the
PVT.
Did u passed the test? I just want to hear from you because when I tried to do the PVT, they allowed me to key in my cc details
Everyone must enter and submit payment details and risk a $200 charge since August 2013. Did you submit and were charged $200? If not you did.not do the trick correctly
Hi.. Same thing happened with me today. They charged me and send me a new Att already. I am crying so much from last two days... Because everyone said to me if its charged that means i am failed.i am still waiting for my official results
If you received a new ATT then the BoN likely knows you didn't pass. I'm sorry. Use your candidate performance report to create a targeted study guide for success in your next attempt.
I took my RN boards for the second time on April 4, 2016, after not passing on November 17, 2015. I tried the Pearson Vue Trick that same evening of April 4 and got the "BAD pop up", got all the way to the Credit Card screen and was able to put in all of my information and could have submitted it, but I chose not to because I did not want to lose $200. HOWEVER, on April 5th, I called the Virginia Board of Nursing and found out that I PASSED with 75 questions and 12 Select All That Apply!!!! I was so fearful that I had failed again, my suggestion to you all is to not even attempt to repay for the boards, wait the 24 hours and call your BON. Have faith, answer MANY questions, and you WILL pass the boards. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL ♥
PVT WORKS!!!! took my test may 4th 2016 attempted to register a hour after and almost everyday after that with Pearson vue after putting in my cc info I got the GOOD POP UP*everytime meaning it didn't allow for me to pay for the test again. I live in CA no quick results it took 4 weeks for my official results. Test stopped at 85 no math I got 3 meds drag and drop and charts. Good luck future nurses☺ï¸â˜ºï¸I passed LPN nclex.
I have a relative that works for Pearson and the glitche has been fixed by Pearson. They were losing money with their quick result option by grads using the PVT. Now on to the $8 option for quick results. DON'T waste your money on it. Your BON will in most cases have your license posted within 2 days after you test. Congratulations to all new nurse graduates!!
