Pearson Vue Trick did NOT work for me and I PASSED!

Nursing Students NCLEX Nursing Q/A

I just wanted to make a post in hopes that this will come up for potential nurses googling about the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT)

I took my NCLEX in January of 2017, and decided to try the PVT so many people swear by. I did NOT get the good pop up, cried cause well obviously it didn't work so figured I had failed. Nope! I passed.

The Pearson Vue Trick does NOT always work. Don't let it trick you!

This is was my second time taking the NCLEX, I failed the first one. It happens! I just picked myself up and studied some more. Passed it the second time with minimum questions. There is so much online help out there! So good luck to everyone!

I took the pvt and at first got the "declined" notice after putting in a invalid card. I took the test 6/9/2017 and tried immediatly after i got the email from them...days later still stressed about if i did or did not pass... put in a valid card and was chargrd 200bucks and got a notice stating that it will be sent for att ..... now i have no choice but to wait.... not sure if i passed of failed but will continue to study till i get the results... and thats 6 weeks in cali.

hey! I just wanted to ask if you got your results?

Did you enter a valid credit card with not enough money on it? Because it's my second time taking nclax and first time I did the trick I got card declined and I did fail. The computer shut off at 85. This time I felt more confident and thought I knew the questions. The test shut off at around 120 questions. I took my test June 28 2017. I'm in California and we have to wait a few weeks for results to come by mail. I couldn't wait any longer and today July 13 I did the trick and got the bad pop up. I used a valid credit card that doesn't have $200. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm hoping this time the bad pop up is wrong.

did you get your results yet?

Hi. This gives me a bit more hope. The first time I took the test it shut off at 85 and I failed. Second time was June 28, 2017. The computer shut off at around 120 questions this time. I felt somewhat confident after the test but the past couple days I have been feeling that I may have failed. Yesterday I decided to do the trick I used a credit card that doesn't have enough funds on it. I got the bad pop up it said card declined. The first time I took the test I got the bad pop up as well and I did fail. Now I'm worried I failed again. I feel hopeless.

Thank you, this gives me hope because I put in my credit info accurately and it actually charged me the $200. I tried to register prior to that with a card that didn't have at least $200 and it said declined. That's when I decided to take a chance and use a card with money on it. I'm in California and they don't do quick results. I'm hoping it's not true and that I did pass.

Really an incredibly misleading thread for people stressing over over whether or not they passed. The PVT only works if you go through the ENTIRE process of signing up for a new exam. You don't just get to entering your card information and back out, you have to go fully through submitting to pay for a new exam. If it tells you the card info is invalid, you need to enter actual, real card info. If it says the card was declined or it charges you $200 that's the "bad" indicator. If it says you can't register because you're already registered that is the "good" indicator. You can't say it didn't work if you're not doing it right. All you're doing is giving false hope to people who do it right and get the bad indicator.

Agreed. Even though PVT is legitimately a roundabout way to finding out, gotta go through all the steps! I did! My thoughts were... well, this credit card has more than enough to cover another NCLEX and if I need to take it again, so be it! Going to happen anyway.

Luckily, I had the good pop up and my license the next day :D

Was yours saying declined card? I'm freaking out I tested July 28,2017 and five hrs later did pvt and it said open registration. Then I did it next day at 3pm and said decline. All this happened with no email sent from Pearson saying I finished exam. I got the email and 5pm that day and have not tried pvt but my results are up and scared to see

So I completed my RN exam at 10:30 today (75 questions) and received the Pearson Vue email at 10:41. I tried the PVT multiple times afterwards and received the good pop up. My only issue is that I didnt actually put my debit card's correct expiration date. Let's hope this works...

Edit: At 9:30 pm I tried the PVT again, this time with all my debit card info correct, and I still get the message saying, "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time."

I anxiously await my unofficial results now

I took the exam yesterday. I did the trick immediately after getting back into my car. I was charged $200 and have an open registration. I am reading all of these posts and wondering... JustBeachy mentioned earlier that some have done it too early. I am trying not to get my hopes up, just deal with the fact that I failed at 234 questions.

Wishing everyone the best of luck.

Did you pass I took mines today
