Hey all!
I wanted to give a quick update to the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT) 2017. While looking for if the "trick" still worked, I didn't see much updated info, and wanted to hopefully alleviate some stress on new grads. I took NCLEX Jan 10th 2017, and got all 265 questions. I started at 8am and finished around 11am. I came home and cried my eyes out thinking I failed, because I assumed getting all the questions was a bad thing. Long story short I tried the PVT by trying to reregister for nclex at about 2pm (I told myself I was going to wait until the next day, but I just couldn't!). I used a current credit card, but put in the incorrect exp date and cvc. I got the "good popup" but wasn't convinced. The good pop up says something about you have already registered for the test blah blah and will not take your money. I tried again later in the evening, maybe around 6ish and got the same result. I was slightly more hopeful, but still not convinced. In Wisconsin we have an OLAS application website I checked also, and next to my nclex results it turned green and said met. At exactly 8am the next day I got the official email from the State of Wisconsin that I had passed, and contained my RN number. I also bought the quick results which said pass.... Soooo long story short the PVT worked for me in 2017!
Worked for me! Took the NCLEX June 30, 2017. It shut off after 75 and I went home crying because I felt like there wasn't a single question that I knew and over 40 of my questions were SATA. I told all my family and friends that I was 90% sure I failed. Remembered an older nurse telling me about this trick a few years ago and decided to try it an hour after I finished. Got the good message, but I figured I was too early. Tried it again after 3 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, then waited 24 and got the same message every time. After my 48 hours was up I got my quick results and found out that I really did pass. 😊
The PVT worked!! I took nclex 7/6 at 0800 and was done at 75 questions, I did the PVT about 6 hours after I finished and had the "good pop up" it states that you recently scheduled and another registration can be made at this time, this really helped me relax a little bit for the rest of the day but I was still so anxious that I tried again after 24 hours of taking the exam and got the same message. However if you're anything like me after taking the nlcex you just want to know and be sure so I kept looking on the BON verification page like every few hours and nothing I also check Nursys a million times!! I wanted to cry!! I finally got the quick results from Pearson vue at 0600 today 7/8 and it says Pass!!! I kept checking for quick results also like every few hours and in the middle of the night because I could not sleep from the anxiety. I'm from Nevada.
The PVT worked for me. I took the NCLEX 7/6 at 0800. Got 75 questions, plus the special research section they do now, but left feeling like I failed because I felt like I did not get passing level questions. I got tons of SATA, but no med calculations, and no hotspots. I also got no delegation questions. Did the PVT about 3 hours after, got the good pop-up and felt slightly better. However, I was not convinced. Anyways, so I did the PVT trick about 12 hours later, and then 24 hours later with the good pop-up consistently. I live in California so no quick results for me, but I woke up the morning of 7/8 to my friend telling me she looked up my name in Breeze, and there I and my license were!! Thank goodness, CA was quick for me.
I also just want to say this for my California friends. I heard a lot of controversy about the drop down menu in Breeze that says "manage your RN application" and how it said "RN repeat or reapply exam." California friends, this does not mean you failed! I had that saying, and ended up passing! Don't worry about it.
Took my NCLEX-RN on 6/20 (California)
Did the PVT 24 hours later and got the good pop up. I've been doing it once a day since and I still get the good pop up, which is reassuring to say the least
Still havent got anything in the mail saying I passed or not and whenever I look up my name on Breeze I'm not getting any results.
This wait is killing me, anyone know if getting the good PVT pop-up but not seeing yourself on the BRN search is a bad sign?
