Pearson Trick NCLEX 2016: NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE

Hello Nursing Students who haven't taken NCLEX yet, or are preparing to take it sooner or later:

As many of you have heard, there is a "trick" you can do on the Pearson Vue website that can give you an indication if you passed or not on the NCLEX, depending on what kind of "pop-up" you get. This trick can be done immediately after taking NCLEX to see if you apparently passed or not on the exam.

Apparently as the saying goes: if you got the "good" pop-up on the page after the credit card page saying you cannot register, it means you have passed. If you got the "bad" pop-up allowing you to proceed and submit the credit card payment, it supposedly means that you have failed.

THIS IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE NOR RELIABLE AND ACCURATE FOR THE BAD POP-UP.

I just wanted to share with you that as of August 2016, this trick is NOT always accurate based on my experience. My purpose of sharing this is to reassure those who got the "bad" pop-up, that please DO NOT rely on this trick as an indicator if you passed or not on boards.

I took my exam on August 2016, and got shut off at 141 questions. I felt good about my exam and had a feeling that I had passed. I went home and periodically did the trick on the Pearson Vue website and all those 7 times I did the trick, I NEVER got the good pop-up and it always proceeded me to the "submit" page after I've entered all the correct credit card information. No good pop-ups were showing up for me saying that I was already registered for the course or prevented the registration from proceeding.

I was so devastated thinking that I had failed, relying on that Pearson Vue trick to base my results. I spent two days crying and thinking I had failed boards and could not get my mind off of that possibility. I spent hours per day searching and looking up on websites to see if anyone in the past had ever gotten the bad pop-up but actually passed, just for my own reassurance. I ended up not finding anything about anyone getting the bad pop up but actually passing. I felt even more terrible and started thinking about remediation and retaking it in another two months.

Two days later I did quick results and found out that I had indeed PASSED!

I wanted to write this post just to reassure those who did the trick and got the "bad" pop-up, that even if you DID get the bad pop-up, it is NOT always 100% accurate nor should it be reliable in determining if you passed or not. It does not mean if you failed, and you should not base everything on this "trick.

Now, I cannot say the same about the good pop-up being accurate, but I have had friends who got the good pop-up and indeed passed. Chances are, if you got the good pop-up, you most likely passed. But if you got the BAD pop-up, it DOES NOT mean that you have failed!

So please do not rely on the trick and just wait the two days to find out for sure. Take your mind off of it while you wait for the officially and guaranteed results. I was so devastated that I did not get the good pop-up and was so relieved to find out that I had passed!

ps: I've did the trick 3 hours after my test and 40 hours later and still got the bad pop-up.

Best of luck to all who are taking boards in the future!

Moved to the NCLEX forum.

What exactly did it say after you put your cc information? I'm probably not going to try it but I test on Monday.

Congrats on passing too! :)

Thank you Bre!

It had said "Your order is NOT complete until you click the "Submit Order" button. Good luck on your exam on Monday! And yes, I do recommend not trying. Some people accidentally submit their payment and ended up getting charged $200 regardless if they passed or not. No refunds given either way. The wait is agonizing but it will be worth getting your results 48 hours later.

Did you submit twice and get charged (or attempted to be charged $200)? The trick is nothing more than a glitch in the registration system. Only two methods are accurate for pass/fail: quick results or notification/listing by the BoN

Congrats on passing but that is not the "bad pop up" you must risk getting charged the non-refundable $200 cost to re-register to accept the PVT challenge.

More importantly you passed even if you agonized for 48 hours

You had to actually submit the payment and then you get the good or bad pop up.

I didn't think this worked anymore since Pearson wants you to pay $10 now to see your results...

Quick results which some states participate in has always had a fee attached to it. The trick is something else

the fee is worth the 8 bucks, but yeah, an agonizing 48 hours :)
