Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of study for the nurse Procalc and the NLN entrance exam for PBCC fall nursing program.

I read on line that this school works on a point system

I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted to the program

(past/Present) student: HOW MANY POINTS DID YOU HAVE TO

WHEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM.

Anyone with info about the program, would be helpful.

Does anyone wishes to get rid of their Pharmocology book for either prurchase or gift? NUR2140 or NUR1141. Please let me know asap.

I finally landed a seat with Marshall at the lakeworth campus, so far the class seem interesting and the teacher is very nice. Also any hints on how to achieve success in this class is apreciated also. Thank you all

What's the difference between NUR2140 and NUR1141? I was thinking of taking pharm at PBCC before I get into the program @ Broward College but I can't take it at BC until I am actually IN the program. So I think I will take it at PBCC.

Also, can anyone recommend a professor?

How's the nursing program going for those of you who started this semester?

Both NUR 2140 and NUR1141 are pharmcology classes needed for completion of the Nursing program.

NUR1141 is a 2 credit course REQUIRED for the program, but it does not transfer over. For ex. say you wanna get your Bachelors degree you will not get credit for the pharm class, and may have to retake it.

NUR2140 is a 3 credit course that transfers over if you want to get a higher degree later in life.

As far as teacher they only have two Marshall and Alexander. Im in Marshall (NUR2140) class right now so far so good. I like her. My suggestion to you is to invest in a voice recorder...it will make life much easier for you. She speaks very fast.

There is a quiz every class meet, 6 unit exams, a reaserch paper and a comprehensive final exam.

When the next session opens up, you have to hurry cause the seats fill up quickly. But which ever you can get seated in take it...cause it will take a heck of a load off your back in the first semester.

P.S they have a pharm online class too.

hows everyone doing is Nursing school so far?? pulling your hair out yet...hang in there first semester is almost over.

I need some help in Pharmacology...im in Marshall class at lake worth.

things i need help with is like.

1. how did you remember the classes of drugs

2. Anotomic Nervous System (ANS)

3. parasympathic and sysmpathic

i guess im just having too much anxiety and need to take a chill pill, my exam is this wednesday and i want to A's it. DO YOU HAVE ANY PHARM NOTES YOU WANNA SHARE WITH ME?

How are you 2bnurse? How is pharm going? I did not take marshall from what I have heard she is more difficult then the teacher I had (online), so I have no pointers for you :o(

So far school is ok, Sometimes I think things are a little unorganized there!!!

It's alot of reading and a different way of thinking...

Are you taking any other classes? where you able to get into the LW campus to take the nln test? I hope you did well on your test

mystical pharm is going....i did the worst thing of my life. i've been studying the ANS for two weeks the night before exam i went to bed at 1.30am i woke up at 5.30am studied till 6.30 and decided that im not ready for the exam (had an anxiety moment) so i didnt attend class that mrng.

now im regretting what i did because my friend said the exam was so easy, no naming of drugs what so ever. now i have to take the make up exam and guess what its... eassy questions and short answers!!! what the hell, how am i gonna write an eassy on parasympathic or seizures medications. i should have just gone to class. but i didnt want to get a low grade cuz it my bring my average down. the first exam which i knew back and forth up and dowm i scored 80%, so i say if i knew those chapter so well and got 80, what would i get if i took a test if and didnt know the material up n down sideways...you get what im saying. so i punked out.

i barely know enough to choose from a,b,c muchless to write and eassy. i need to vent sorry. i said i was gonna go today Thursday and just get it out the way and off my mind. but im not sure yet :coollook:

how did you do in pharm? im not taking any other classes just pharm. at least you dont have to worry about it anymore just process. say hi to thunter and diver, smallz and lsmith. later

Wow that sucks,,, next time dont flake out.... How do you think you did with the essays? I got a B in pharm. I am glad that I got it out of the way, you will see what I mean when you get into NS. I will tell them you say Hi!!!

the eassy all i can say is ooooweeeeee. due to my poor decision, which i now regret btw i failed miserably. this was the second exam so i have to make sure i kick butt for the other 4 exams.

yesterday after the exam i was so sad, i stopped by the mall to pick me up a new outfit (shopping always makes me feel better).

i got the good news that i can take the NLN at miami com college. i spoke to the director and she said she would proctor the exam for me. im happy because that saves me the hassle of applying and sending transcript to indian river.

mystical, did you fail any of your pharm exams?

i know shes gonna pull me aside and do counselling becuz of my grade fell below average (i feel dumb right now)

YOU ARE FAR FROM DUMB!!!!

pharm tests I believe are like critical thinking questions,, maybe the prob is the way you are understanding the questions, not the material... if you think that may be the prob ask her for web sites that you can go to so you can learn to break down the questions

i passed the first test, but this make up test was very HARD because it was eassy questions and short answers. i failed because the questions were hard and she asked names of the drugs (which i can barely spell) class, adverse effects and nursing implementations. she did not do that on the in class exam.

to all students if you take pharm at PBCC please do you best not to miss any test. because the make up test is horrific. im learning from my mistakes. im praying for a B in this class....i will work hard for it too!.

did you know all the drugs and uses after you completed the class from memory?
