Passing grade for your nursing school

I'm just "polling". What is the passing grade for the semester in your nursing program? This is not counting prerequisites but only nursing classes. In our school, it's an 80. Anything below that is failing.

What is it at yours?

Good luck to everyone on their finals. Two down, three to go!

My school has the same 75% on all tests average rule. You have to pass all your test which would include 3 exams and the final with a 75%. None of your class work (care plans/papers) are averaged into your grade until you have the 75% average on the tests. I was on border line, coming into the final 74.6% so I pray to God that I came thru (med/surg), they do not round:confused: Pray for MEEEEEEE please:)

Here's one big prayer coming at ya from one Michelle to another! Good luck, I bet you passed. Let us know,k?:)

Anything below an 86 is failing at my school.

Marie, you have to get an 86 to pass a class? I think almost everyone in our class would be gone by now if that was so for us... that seems INCREDIBLY high! Sounds like a lot of pressure.

Yeah that is unbelievable!!!! Is that an 86% with all the care plans test included or do you have to have an 86% average on the tests alone first?

86 average as a final grade, no test grades can be below a 78%

My school is 80% for all classes-LPN program. Pass/Fail on clinicals.

Specializes in Telemetry/Med Surg.

Excuse my ignorance, but why do dental hygeine students even need to take A&P?

I imagine they have to know all the facial nerves and nerves and bones in the jaw, etc. and teeth are also covered under digestion in anatomy..... just my thoughts anyway.

cheers

PS Passing in my school is 70 & above.

I would think that would be the reason too.

you must have an overall 74% to pass the nursing courses, except for our med calculations and dosages exams you had to make at least a 74% on each test. our clinicals are not pass or fail, we actually get a letter grade. of course i strive above the minimum and so far i'm doing well and have no complaints!!!

Still, an 86 for a final grade requirement seems.....well.....cruel! Bordering on vicious, even! I still have to say....OMG!
