Passed The Psb!! Upmc Shadyside

Published

I have been freaking out for the past two months studying for the PSB. I took it on 8/29/08 for admittance to UPMC Shadyside. Well I just got my results back.....99 percentile for verbal, 99 for math, 99 for reading comp, and 98 for natural sciences!!!!:loveya:I'm shocked!!! I started hardly knowing anything about natural sciences!!! I've been out of school for a while. I'm really ecstatic. If anyone has any questions about the test, I'd be happy to answer them. Also, with my test results, are my chances pretty high for getting into Shadyside? Thanks!

I should know friday my results and I'm real nervous. I have this sick feeling that I did horrible. I kept thinking of some of the math questions I missed...or think I missed....I will keep everyone updated. Friday should be the day!

I'm sure your just psyching yourself out. You probably did great! Don't worry. I sent in all my application stuff last week. Does anyone know when we should hear if we got in? I know the deadline for spring is December 19 so do they wait to get all the applications in or do they notify people before then?

It is a rolling admission, so once they review your file, you will hear from them. It never hurts to call, either, to ask if your file has been reviewed. Good luck!!!!!!

From my understanding some people have received information quick and others late. The advice I heard was to stay on top of it and call/email to check in and see the status. Good Luck! I hope you get in...

I emailed Natalie to see whether or not everything had been received last Thursday and I have still not heard back...I did really well on the PSB and I handed all of my stuff by the first week of October. I am freaking out waiting for something. Does anyone know when people typically hear something? Thanks!!

I got my acceptance letter today!! so relieved. now just nervous about school itself. recommend to everyone applying to check in with Natalie to make sure your application is complete. One of my recommendations got lost in the mail. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't called to check. Good luck to everyone and see you when school starts:)

Hey Megan, how long from the time you turned in your application to the time you got your acceptance letter. All my stuff was in towards the end of October and I'm just wondering how long it will be before I hear something. Congratulations by the way. Hopefully I'll be starting in March with you.

Hi everyone,

I'm sending in my app this week (hopefully tomorrow or wednesday) i did well on my psb and spoke with natilie and she said to get my stuff in asap. i'm working on my essay and it's not very long. i'm someone who sticks to the point and keeps it short and sweet. how long were your essays? i'm just wondering if i need to add fluff to make it longer or stick with what i have.

thanks for the input

Hey Hope! My essay was actually 5 pages long but i'm very long winded and I felt like I needed that much to make a point. I'm sure whatever you do will be fine. From what I understand the really important aspect is the PSB exam scores. Good luck!
