Passed The Psb!! Upmc Shadyside

hello, i went out and got the " NURSING SCHOOL & ALLIED HEALTH ENTRANCE EXAMS" ka "ARCO' book & i couldnt get passed the 1st page of science, can someone please.... help me out my test is on the 28th of Oct. and i want to grab the bull by the horns :saint: , so if anyone can give me some good information on what books to get or where to go ASAP i would really appreciate it :scrying: becuase im really stressing out thank you :banghead:

I'm using the same book but this weekend I'm going to Barnes and Noble to get the Barron's and Kaplan book. I heard they where very helpful. I need to get it in gear I take the test Friday the 17th!

I have a question as far as the test is concerned is there any chemistry on there?

Yay!!! I just got my test results in the mail today and I passed!!! 97th percentile in vocabulary, 99th in math, 98th in reading comprehension, and 94th percentile in natural science. I'm so relieved, now I can focus on my application. For those of you who are taking the test in October, good luck! You'll all do fine. My best advice would be to get an SAT word book to brush up on your vocabulary. And use a good biology text to review for the science. The ARCO book is way harder than the actual test and it will just freak you out. If anyone has anymore questions, i'd be happy to answer them. Good luck all!!!

Congratulations on your results!

Although the good results are a predictor of success, I think the hard work all of you are putting into studying for the exam also shows that you're willing to do the work to get through Nursing School and that you'll do well. It's 22 months of hard work, but a lot of fun too.

congrats for sure ! im not sure which biology book to use, im sorry last time i was in school was high school lol and that was back in 96, i feel like a chicken with her head cut off im so stressed out, i just want to to as good as i can :banghead::banghead:

You can go to your local community college or university and just go to the library. They usually have textbooks on reserve that you can check out and use to study. Or go to the bookstore and see what textbook they use for biology. Really any basic cell bio book is going to be a good review. It's all pretty much the same in each book. Good luck! It's not as difficult as you think.

I've been spending a lot of time at Barnes and Noble just reading through the Bio books. It is a big help I just take some notes, read through the chapters and drink lots of Starbucks =) I take the test friday and I'm nervous because I'm not the greatest test taker. Thanks Bonnetoile for the advice on the ARCO book I finally started looking at the Barons and I feel a little relieved. I got 3 days to bust my butt! =)

Tomorrows my doomsday =/ I've been studying but I still feel like I don't know anything. So I'm just going to calm down and go from there! After the test I'll post my thoughts and feelings and then hopefully in two weeks I'm posting I passed.

Good luck! Just relax when you take the test.........do one question at a time. You will be fine! Let us know how it goes! Shadyside is a great school. I love it!
