passed nclex today!!

Published

So i want to post my POSITIVE story for anyone who is scared for nclex. I know that reading other peoples stories helped calm my nerves! Well I graduated this December and took nclex-pn today (1/17). I got 85 questions and took about an hour. I did not think that the exam was very difficult. It was different than any test i took in nursing school being that it really required higher level thinking and application of the knowledge that i gained in nrsg school. I did very well in school getting all A's and B's. I was nervous today but very confident walking into the exam. To prepare i only did ATI tests. I did about 2-3 tests a day for about 2 weeks. Before graduation i got a 98% chance of passing nclex the first time on my comp predictor through ATI. The day before the exam i just relaxed all day, we watched movies, ordered chinese and just spent the evening NOT stressing!! My best advice is to test as soon as you can and do not stress out over it. You began preparing for nclex your very first day of nursing school! You can pass! just take practice tests and review the rationales, even when you get the answers right!! You are prepared for nclex! if you don't know it now you probably never will until you gain experience!!

oh and i got the good pop up when i did the pvt (5 min after exam)...forgot to add that!

Congratulations I want to pass too.

have you scheduled boards yet? you can!! just be positive and review questions everyday!! test ASAP!! and thank you:))

Congratulations! Go celebrate!

hi congratz for passing the nclex..... can u tell me what is ATI.... actually i completed my study from another country and don't know about it.... plz let me know about it and how can i get those questions??? thnx a lot in advance....

Congrats!!!! You're officially a nurse!! I took my NCLEX PN today too and I did the PVT right after I got out of the buliding and got the good popup, I am so anxious til saturday to pay for those quick results and be certain that the PVT is true! My computer also shut off at 85 questions, it wasnt that bad, not alot of pharm, alot of SATAs , teaching, prioritizaton and some calculatons. I was actually suprised of how broad the exam was. I never did good on ATI, i hated ATI for some reason, i was told in my program to study for NCLEX from ATI and we were giving ati materials for it, I even got a study book from them but I just couldnt study from it, instead II purcahsed EXAM PREP and I gotta say I even got a question on the NCLEX that they had in that book :)) I graduated from nursing school May of 2012, bt just took my nclex this january since right after graduation I was getting married in Europe and when I got back I must have waited at least 3 months for the ATT, when I finally got it , I registed for the exam but after the SANDY hurricane we had in Jersey some of the centers flooded and they ended up cancelling my exam until further notice. I took my fist attempt NCLEX exam a little over 7 months after graduation, and Im really hoping the good popup works for me as it does for everyone else :))

thank you. go to atitesting.com they are a testing company that has nclex style questions. I only knew of ATI because my school used it as well all though out nrsg school. I know they have nclex reviews you can buy with all of the tests. I got mine through my school it was part of our program, we got a 3 day live review and then a bunch of pass codes to take test to prepare for nclex. they give you a study guide to follow based off of a comprehensive predictor exam. I hated ATI during school, i did not do well on the tests at first. my final semester of school and while studying for the nclex i started doing really well on the tests. the style of testing is just like nclex.

well thank you and congrats to you too because we are now BOTH LPN'S!!! that really is a terrible that it you were delayed so long from taking nclex but all that matters now is you've taken it and passed!! like i said in my previous post to my school pushed ATI like crazy and I really hated it my first 2 semesters but started doing really good on my tests in my 3rd semester. I had a lot of SATA's too, pharm, only one med calc, some pictures and put in orders. all in all i really didnt think the test was too bad!! congratulations again!!

So nice to hear good outcomes! I graduated dec. 14th and I'm scheduled to take my NCLEX-PN on January 22nd and I'm so nervous!!! I took the live Hurst review first week in January, I've been doing some ATI practice tests (I was predicted 93% chance to pass per ATi comprehensive exam). I also bought the Saunders 5th Ed. Study guide. I still feel like I'm unprepared!! I got all As and Bs in nursing school, but this exam is so different!! Any suggestions? I've been working on memorizing my lab values, I'm paranoid of SATA questions!! I know I struggle with pharm, so I've been paying extra attention to that.

you will be fine. the SATA's werent too bad and i normally hate them! and if you get a lot of SATA that supposed to mean your doing well! i didn't have a lot of pharm and i dont think that many people do. the drugs i did have were ones i werent super familiar with either so i was kind of making educated guesses! apparently it worked!! and your right the nclex was different than school but not in a bad way- in school although it seems like we had to critically think to answer the questions they were all content based, the nclex is taking all the content we have already been tested on and using it in actual situations. You honestly will do fine.i think a lot has to do with your schools pass rates- was yours high? my school was 100%. when i see the people that have failed so many times of course i feel terrible for them but it makes me think maybe their program didn't prepare them how they should have. Good luck to you and let us know if you pass!!

Congratulations!!!
