Parkland Critical Care Nurse Residency Sept 2012

Published

Hi all,

I'm somewhat new to this forum. I applied to Parkland's MICU and SICU residency. I've already received the email saying my apps were forwarded to the hiring manager. I'm looking for any info on what the hiring process is like, far as, how long after receiving the email did you get an interview and also any info on how the residency works. My dream is either to get into the ED or one of the critical care areas. I know this would be a great opportunity to be employed at a Level I trauma center. Any advice, tips, connections and info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks. I'm doing the waiting game with the rest of you guys. Hopefully we all hear back soon

Still haven't heard anything from L&D. I've interviewed but just waiting to hear back. Going NUTS!

LVN +3,

Keep faith. I don't think it is too late. :)

Rngoldie, its definitely nice to know we are not alone in the waiting process. It gives a certain calmness about the entire process. I can't believe you're coming all the way from Rhode Island! That's really neat! I do we hope we hear soon, especially for those having to make travel arrangements. Someone please pinch me because I still can't believe it! :)

I interviewed on the 9th and they called on the 10th.

I hope you hear back soon so you can start your big move.

Has anybody gotten their official offer as of today?? I'm on pins and needles at this point waiting. I think I'll be more at ease when I know it's confirmed. I'm no good at this waiting game.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard back yet. It's already Wednesday, and this waiting game is no fun, lol. Let's play a new game! Let's all call our recruiters and hound them until we get our "official" offer so we don't worry anymore, ha ha ha, just kidding. I already called mine and emailed her, so she must be busy.

Why is it that when I respond to this thread on my phone, I ALWAYS get an edit on my personal thread with "no text/chat speak", but when I do it from my lap top, I get no edit? Weird...

I think I have some good news. I talked to a current SICU resident, and she told me that she also received a rejection email after being offered a position. I told her that I called, emailed my recruiter, and that I did not receive a response. She had the same difficulties, and reassured me that it is a long process, and they are notorious for not calling back. This made me feel soooooo much better. I guess the wait continues. I bet by Friday we will hear something.

I have not.

Hey, good news people! My recruiter just emailed me with info regarding the next steps. She also said that they are processing the official offers right now. The email is basically info regarding vaccinations, tb test, drug test, color blind test, and respirator fit test. I need to do this before next Wednesday, it being the deadline to get all this accomplished. For those with unofficial offers, I bet u will see ur email in the next day or so. :)

Oops, I meant to say the deadline to get info in is Wednesday Sept. 12th, NOT this coming Wednesday, sorry about that.
