Hey all.
33 yrs old, been in EMS for a decade. Wife and I had a kid 7 months ago and that has pushed me to go ahead and make the jump. Currently I work in a pretty busy ER as a medic on 3rd shift after being on the truck for most of my career. Also a member of the Air National Guard. Needless to say, finding time to study is hard.
So far passed:

And after some talk with the wife today, I've decided to push through the final 4 exams and make the Aug 22 deadline for FCCA. Fun times. In the last few innings of the game, gotta finish strong.
That's great to hear Josh! I know if I can do it then you definitely can do it. Just hammer away with the studying, every chance you get and you'll be in the next FCCA.
Well, just got out of my Repro test and I bombed it. Missed it by a hair. Definitely should've put more study time into it, work and family life has been hectic.
Now I've screwed myself out of the Aug 22 FCCA date for certain so that means that the next FCCA option is October. At least now I won't have to cram 4 exams into 1.5 months on top of military duty. I hate that I'm pushing it back by another 8 weeks.
Oh well, time to regroup and figure out my next move. I guess I can work on taking the LS exams in the mean time. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed with myself. Sigh.
Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that Josh. Regroup. Refocus. These exams are no joke but I know you can do it. Study away. When you feel confident see if you can get them to waive the 60 days, if thats what you choose, and pass that test. Repro is kind of difficult for medics as we don't really deal with that stuff as medics.
You'll get this!!!!
It was definitely way more in depth than I was giving it credit for. Some of the questions were doozies.
I sent them a request to shorten the wait time or waive it, explaining my reasoning as I was hoping to have it all done by November/December time frame when I come up for potential deployment, thus avoiding a lot of complication. I'd much rather have to come back to only the CPNE versus classes and what not.

Dang it! Still forgot to add that my first test date was a cancellation date. The second date was wide open on Valentine's Day weekend. Apparently not too many people want to give up special occasions or holiday weekends to reach lifetime goals.
