Paper or computer cumulative health records?

Published

Do you guys use paper or computer cumulative health records for students? We currently use paper that we have used FOREVER but I am running out of forms. I was considering using the electronic ones through our SMS Eschool Data and then printing a hard copy for the student files but they are so ugly. How are you doing it in your office?

I have both. For charting office visits I can use our online system Aeries. For medications I use paper charts I created myself.

I use both myself. I have a hard copy health information form that gets filled out every year. Much of that information is entered into my EHR (SNAP), but I have to have a hard copy for any sub or administrator because they do not have access to SNAP. My daily medications are entered into SNAP (I have a paper medication chart for subs, and enter the given by xx into SNAP the next day so my pill count is accurate).

Mainly all computer charting. I do not put Clinical/Health records into our students cumm file. If a sub comes in then they use paper charting that is already set up and in place for them.

all computer - the only thing that gets done on paper is the log when a sub takes over for the day - but my absences are rare

Paper - all paper. Of course I write plans and reports on the computer . . but I print them out on paper.

We have Aeries but the teachers want the H&V results in the health insert of the cumulative file. Easy access.

I don't want to double-chart every assessment I do (Aeries and the file)so I do everything on paper. Obviously all the reports I write are in my documents file on the computer.

I truly dislike computer charting - I work in another field of nursing and hate the computer charting. It takes so long. Much easier to use pen and paper . . in my opinion.
