Hi!
I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ABSN program at Pace so we can go through this application process together!

aligned my experience with being a mentor/tutor for inner city kids to patient provider realtionships and how nurses are at forefront of these kind of relationships and how regardless of barriers in race/ethnicities/lack of resources/environment can hold one back that we can still provide care simply by understanding.
grew passionate about ending health disparities/ the best way for me to contribute in closing the gap and aligned how being a mentor for students..all came down to care. im very into public health as well

I emailed and was told I’m still under review so maybe there is still hope lol I also seen you applied to mercy college? I also applied there but they are having issues with my credits in order to review my app. ?

Ohh that's interesting, I made a similar point. I worked with kids/families involved with child protection so I mentioned that my social work background gave me a unique perspective. Both involve being an advocate (as nurses do for patients).. I don't think they would disregard everything outside of grades! Personal statements are a good chance to speak for ourselves and show more than just that. You have some good experience ?
P.S. My interview is scheduled but my status online is still only Submitted

Wow! I'm graduating with my bachelors in social work this June. Nice to know there's another social worker in this forum ? I have experience in the DOE (middle school students) and SCO with families and children ages 3-5. I also put that my social work background is an asset for this nursing program in my essay. I am interviewing march 3rd. I really hope I get accepted to this program!

I don’t believe its comes down to grades . I was waitlisted last year and had (still have) alot of years of experience from volunteering to working in a hospital for the past 5 yrs. But this year I interviewed earlier and submitted my application all the way in late September. I believe its a combination of things and applying early really does help.
