To those nurses who were seeking registration with the Queensland Nursing Council and whose applications were put on hold until commencement of the AHPRA work.

Any news? Any guess what is the situation with our applications? Will they be re-assessed by the AHPRA? Should we pay once again for the assessment process? Did anyone tried to reach the AHPRA and clarify all the issues?

I'm trying to find info abou this, too!

I still havent applied cos I was waiting for July1st but then the day came and I found nothing on the AHPRA website.....I believe that there'll be a BP in QLD as well as all other states....

I'm gonna write them an email (to AHPRA) asking abou this matter and once they reply to me, I'll let u know...

I'm also following the thread about Victoria, but as the name says, it's very specific for those who are going there.

Hopefully, we'll find our answers soon!

Love,

Nathalie

I've sent them an enquiry through an enquiry form on their site. BTW, on the site I found phone number for intenational calls: 78 685 433 429

If you learn something, please share!

Thanks for replying!!! :nurse: I've sent them a inquiry, too.

As soon as I have any news, I'll let you know.

I don't know if I'm gonna call them because there is a huge time difference between Brazil and OZ.

Let's keep in touch! :lol2:

Nope. Nothing new

I also have sent inquiry to their e-mail address but got no response so I went directly to their office. Apparently, they still don't know anything about the process for the applicants transferred from Queensland Nursing Council which is ridiculous.

I asked them if they have any idea how long it's gonna take and they couldn't answer me, either. I think they haven't settled down yet because they have too many things to do regarding registration and endorsement of all existing registered nurses in the country.

I have a friend who applied in NBV whose documents were sent back to her. AHPRA is requiring them to resubmit their credentials with the new application form and the format from the AHPRA website. The only thing waived was the fee she paid before. I'm not sure if the same will happen with those who applied in QNC.

hi guys.... have you got any latest news about the application for registration in australia? I sent my papers to Queensland nsg council and last june 1 they emailed me stating that they can't decide for my competency, they just gave me options that i can withdraw or put on hold my application and i can just enroll for any bachelor program for nurses. I opted to put my papers on hold however until now I still didnt hear from anyone. help! =)

Because the Queensland Nursing council actually stopped processing overseas applications much earlier than the Nurses board of Victoria which continued on to the last wee hours of their existence.

i'm in the same situatin as lallyrosario. i got the letter from qld nursing council dating back to 17 may 2010 stating that my application will be put on hold and i saw no point that i have to re-apply to aphra as it means i have to start the whole process again. i'm amazed that they offered this option. i just hope that aphra can proceed with it without having to send all the documents to them again.
