  1. Hi all, Guys I have a very urgent question, have to decide ASAP. My employer is ready to launch Employer sponsored Visa, the question is whether to do this onshore or offshore. Both me and employer are interested in my immediate arrival, so I guess 457 visa is the quickest way. Is it possible to launch PR ENS(856 visa) upon my arrival to Au, provided that ANMaC has performed an eligibility assesment? Or should I work for 2 years in Au to be eligible for this type of visa? I'll appreciate any help.
  2. Karenmaire, talaxandra Thank you for such a useful information, I appreciate your help. Hope, I'll find something.
  3. Hi everyone, I am an overseas RN with a 10 year experience, 8 of them in BMT and haematology I want to research the local job market and try to find something in a similar field of specialization. I'll appreciate if you recommend hospitals in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. By the way, what kind of salary can I expect?
  4. Guys! How long does it take VCHN to assess the documents for BP? I sent scans of my docs three days ago. When should I expect an answer?
  5. I've sent them an enquiry through an enquiry form on their site. BTW, on the site I found phone number for intenational calls: 78 685 433 429 If you learn something, please share!
  6. To those nurses who were seeking registration with the Queensland Nursing Council and whose applications were put on hold until commencement of the AHPRA work. Any news? Any guess what is the situation with our applications? Will they be re-assessed by the AHPRA? Should we pay once again for the assessment process? Did anyone tried to reach the AHPRA and clarify all the issues?
  7. thanks needlefoxrn! i've already called them (vchn) and received answers to my questions. the only thing i forgot to ask is what kind of registration i'll get at the end: registration of wa (since wa has not accepted the health practitioner regulation national law bill yet) or national-wide??? any guess?
  8. Guys, I need help. I received a letter of eligibility from NMBWA, and tried to reach the Victorian College of Health and Nursing through e-mail for information about their bp. But no answer. What should I do? Call them and clarify all the issues by phone? Fill out the application form and send it? What are the first steps?
  9. I checked. The VCHN accreditation expires in Dec 2010. Pretty soon!
  10. thank you terdjay! and what about vchn? do they still provide bridging courses for rn?
  11. Does anyone have any information about Royal Perth Hospital BP plans for the next 2011 year?
  12. hi xekie, 10 years. i wrote them a letter and asked questions. the only answer i received was "if you choose option 1 (to put application on hold) your application will be forwarded to ahpra, however, we do not know whether it will be assessed under ahpra's requirements as we do not have this information" in the other states the bridging programs are not cancelled and their boards continue receiving applications for assessment. i wonder why queensland nursing council decided to shut down everything.
  13. Hi everyone! Today received a letter from the Queensland Nursing Council stating that I'm eligible for registration but need to demonstrate competence. But there is no longer any form of bridging program available. They suggest to put my application on hold until the commencement of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. This confuses me a lot. I do not understand how long will it take for the new Board to assess my application again? Or assessment is not required since the QNC has already done this? Who knows what kind of bridging programs will be available? Will such applications as mine (submitted at the end of July 2009) be a priority for the new board? Thank you in adnvance for any information you possess on this issue.
  14. All other nurses are required to successfully complete one of the following English Language Tests: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) — Academic Test Nurses and midwives must achieve a score of 6.5 or more in Reading and Listening and a score of at least 7 in Writing and Speaking with an overall band score of 7 or more of the IELTS test. The test must have been undertaken not more than two years before lodging the application for assessment. Original copies of the results of the test should be forwarded to ANMC by the organisation that conducted the test. The results of the test must be forwarded to ANMC prior to completion of the assessment. This is the very first that you have to do. Then comes assessment/registration. You have to choose the state (or territory) where you want to live and work and send a set of documents (evidence of registation as a nurse, evidence of practice, etc.) to the Nursing Board (or Council) for assessment/registration. Nursing Boards have their own registration requirements. Check those links: http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/n/nurse-registered-nurse-2323-11.htm#licensing. The outcomes of the assessment can be different: 1) they assess the documents provided by you and find you eligible for registration. 2) they assess the documents and conclude that your knowledge and experience are not sufficient for work in the Australian hospital environment but you are eligible to undergo the competency/bridging program (around 3 months, the price for this program varies from state to state). You should note that in Queensland one can take a so-called Challenge Test and on the basis of its results then receive a license. As soon as you receive a license, you can apply for a visa (visa options: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/medical-practitioners/visa-options-nurses.htm).
